GS724T no browser access even after factory reset

I am not able to access several GS724T1 switches using a browser or the NETGEAR Switch Discovery Tool 1.2.103

The switches still work but I have not been able to gain access even after holding the factory reset button down for more than 10 seconds. I even used a cable directly connected between the computer and the switch under test with no other devices attached. I was careful to set the ethernet interface to the proper IP range and mask.

    AlanKilgore,

    Welcome to the community! 🙂

Since you have already factory reset the GS724Tv1 switch, its IP address will be back to its default which 192.168.0.239.  Connect a PC directly to any port of the GS724Tv1, assign a static IP address such as 192.168.0.210.  Open command prompt on the PC then check if you are able to get replies when you ping the default IP address of the switch.

If you are able to get replies when you ping the default IP address of the GS724Tv1 switch, open a browser such as IE7 or IE9 (Internet Explorer 7 or 9) then try to access its web-GUI.  Be reminded that the GS724Tv1 is an old model of switch and it is already EoL (End of Life) years ago that is why an old browser is recommended to be used.

      Thankyou for your response.

After the factory reset I already tried connecting to the default IP using proper range computer IP and mask.

Neither GS724Tv1 switch responds to pings but both still work as unmanaged switches. If it won't respond to pings I am thinking that there is no hope for for any web browser to access its webserver. Or, is there an internal hardware jumper that I can try for a lower-level factory reset?

I have a GS724Tv3 that continues to work in all respects.. When I tried to order another v3 or v4 last January, they were unavailable for many months, like many such IT products at that time. So, I bought a competing product to meet immediate needs. But I would like to restore these GS724Tv1 models if I can. Is there any hope for them to be anything more than a non-managed switch at this point?
