Prosafe FVS114 Dynamic DNS provider page displayed as blank
Before updating the firmware from v1.1_11 I thought that I had the DDNS page available.
After updating the firmware to v1.1_15 the page does not show up. It comes up blank.
Is this a problem with the firmware update?
does the original v1.1_11 have the same problem? (not showing the page)
can I return to the previous firmware version?
Thanks in advance for any constructive info on this subject.

So this leads me to a followup question:
What piece of equipment that Netgear manufactures/produces that has an interface to www.no-ip.com web site?
I read the following concerning the FVS336Gv2 :
That FVS336Gv2 has no Dynamic DNS support which calls from the DDNS page ==> http://www.no-IP.com.
It does support the following though:
Dynamic DNS,
DNS TZO,
DNS Oray, &
3322 DDNS
As I have written in the previous post that the FVS114 does not support/point to http://no-ip.com, so the question is, is there a piece of equipment that Netgear manufactures/produces that has an interface to http://www.no-ip.com web site?
There was a previous post on this thread which points to a Netgear page that indicates that the FVS318Gv2 is the replacement for the ProSafe VPN Firewall FVS114.
Does the FVS318Gv2 or FVS318n equipment DDNS page have a pointer to http://www.no-ip.com?

Looking at the dynamic dns section on my FVS318N, I can say no, this unit does not support no-ip (at least on the firmware I'm on).
I just read about a TP-Link r600vpn that seems like it might. Check it out and see. I know where to get these under $50 brand new, so if can do what you want, PM me and I'll send you the link.

The following is the page from the ProSafe VPN Firewall FVS114
Dynamic DNS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Use a dynamic DNS service
- None
- DynDNS.org Click here for information
- TZO.com Click here for free trial
- ngDDNS Click here to register
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apply Cancel Show StatusWhen you click on any of the three options you are pointed to the following address
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- DynDNS.org Points to ===>> http://www.dyndns.org/ (Which is resolved to) ===>> http://dyn.com/dns/
- TZO.com Points to ===>> http://dyn.com/
- ngDDNS Points to ===>> http://ngddns.iego.net/ <<=== this page no longer is resolved to a web site.
The first two option point to basically the same place===>> why is there not a pointer to www.no-ip.com <<===

- SamirDProdigyGlad you fixed it! I have a lot of legacy (aka old, obsolete, etc) computer and nwtworking equipment so ive run into this type of thing before. Now that i am thinking about it, i think i know why the 100Mbit uplink ports on an old 10Mbit switch didnt test at 100Mbit the last time i tested them--because the switch was built before the nway auto-speed negotiation standard! I'll have to try the test again. I didnt think those switches had gone bad--they were $900 new back in the day.

Hello All,
Ok I took the suggestion that it might be the browser that is causing this problem. For v.38 & 41.0 FireFox does not display the DynDNS page.
So I downloaded Google's Chrome Version 45.0.2454.99 m & the DynDNS page is displayed.
Problem solved........
Thanks to all for your help & suggestions.
P.S. The FVS114 is running the v1.1_15

I have loaded the following Firmware Ver. onto the FVS114 router:
1.1_01
1.1_06
1.1_10
1.1_15
After each loading of the different firmware versions I reset the router to factory setting & nothing shows up on the Dynamic DNS page.
It comes up blank (color gray) with no text showing.
P.S. so something has changed in the router & I am not sure what it is at this point, since I had the page before uploading the 1.1_15 ver. of the firmware.

If you have tried reverting the firmware, then I have to believe it is in the browser that you're using. Try a completely different computer with a completely different browser. Also, one that may be older may be best since the firmware is also dated. (I will usually use a linux live cd for this type of testing--easiest way since you can use the same physical machine.)

Hi CloudLostItAll,
A few questions below:
a. After updating the firmware to v1.1_15, did you perform a factory reset? If not, it is recommended to perform a factory reset after updating the firmware then reconfigure it from scratch.
b. Have at least tried using other browsers to access the web-GUI of the FVS114 and check if the Dynamic DNS page is still blank?
I look forward to your response. Welcome to the community! :smileyhappy:

1. After updating the firmware to v1.1_15, did you perform a factory reset?
I did not, but will.
2. If not, it is recommended to perform a factory reset after updating the firmware then reconfigure it from scratch.
I will & return to write what happens.
P.S. I am going to hate to do this. Is there a way to copy the current configuration to a file?
3. Have at least tried using other browsers to access the web-GUI of the FVS114 and check if the Dynamic DNS page is still blank?
I have tried both FF & Chrome with no results (blank page)

Performing a factory reset right after updating the device to its latest firmware version gives you a clean setup using the latest firmware version. Furthermore, some enhancements as well as bug fixes of the latest firmware version cannot be obtained without a factory reset.
Kindly observe if same problem occurs after doing a factory reset.
