NOTE: It's recommended to factory reset and setup from scratch after applying this FW update.
NOTE: Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200

I recommend that you leave the DHCP IP address pool range set to a smaller range. You don't have to use the default range. I personally never use the factory range on any NG router. Also this provides room for static IP addressed devices as well. I use .100 to .150 as I only have around 30 devices. Plenty of room for additional devices if and when that happens.
We hope so, however don't have that info.

Upgraded firmware, factory reset via GUI, 30 second press of the reset button on the back just to make sure. Reconfigured all settings - everything seems to be working fine. These are the settings I have different to default:
- Ran the Wizard and added username and password for PPPoE (UK ISP)
- Configure Google DNS instead of using ISP's DNS
- Allowed the router to run its own speed test
- Enable QoS and reduce to give headroom for congestion control
- Ran DSL Reports speedtest and scoring A+ / A / A+ so pretty happy
- Disable:
- uPnP
- WIFI radios (I have separate WiFi access points)
- Media Server, USB and ReadyShare
I don't use the Geo-Filter or Hybrid VPN so cannot comment on those.
Will let you know if there are any issues.

Pease don't use 30 second press of the reset button. Only 10 seconds is needed.
- I’ve not had a good experience with QOS on this version. Since the upgrade I’ve felt that even normal web browsing performance is sluggish. One of my children said that CS GO was unplayable. I play Factorio and I put in a manual QOS rule in for it (as on the previous version) but latency was noticeably worse (spikes up to 250 ticks).
You can see the actions I took to upgrade in my previous post. I went from v120 to v134. I’ve now downgraded to v130 without a factory reset and things seem to be working fine again.
when i click the QoS option i am greeted with a device not found, also when i try to run the connection benchmark nothing happens

Did you factory reset the router and setup from scratch after loading the FW?
What browser are you using?
Be sure to clear out browser caches before entering the routers web page.

i tried the hard button reset on the back, held for ten seconds. it rebooted the router but saved info was still there, then i did the factory erase option(think that is what its called) and that did reset it. so long answer is yes. I have also tried both chrome and edge

Hi FURRY,
If update the new firmware and after factory reset restore from backup I have any issues?
With .130 firmware after factory reset I don’t have it any problems. Need to update the new firmware? Is important? Router working better with .134?
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerPanos_78 it is not advised to upgrade, reset and then restore as you could bring issues back. It is more of a maintenance & security upgrade so it is recommended but depending on how you feel about that, not necessary. You're unlikely to have any performance improvements by upgrading.

5Ghz speeds are good:
ASUS GT-AX11000 in wireless bridge mode.
iPhone 12 pro max is seeing to spec speeds as well for 5Ghz AC with 160Mhz enabled:
Hi everyone just updated to the newest firmware and as mentioned it is still very buggy and has the DHCP issue. Can everyone recommend from their experience what is the most stable version of previous firmware that is useable please?
Thanks in advance

Did you factory reset the router and setup from scratch? I'm not seeing the DHCP issue on my XR450 and i'm using default DHCP IP address range.

Yes factory reset via the pin hole for 30 seconds
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerAs above, also there is no specific fix for that issue in that version. If you haven't done so already the following can help with the disconnections. In LAN Settings, set the DHCP range to start at .50, then assign reserved IP addresses to devices between .2 & .49 so they're out of the DHCP range, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and see if that stops the disconnects.
Hi guys still running into problems with my XR500 so am going to revert back to an old software version. By the looks of things version .120 seems to be stable for a few people on here but I cannot seem to find this version on Netgear's website its jumps straight from version 2.3.2.114 to 2.3.2.130. Can anyone provide me a link to .120 software version please?
Also what would be the correct procedure to downgrade to this in terms of factory resetting the router?
Thanks in advance 🙂

.120 is the beta version that can be found here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-DumaOS-3-0/New-Firmware-v2-3-2-120-XR500/m-p/2071196
Just downgrade like you would normally upgrade, it's usually best to factory reset after but you would likely get the error on the QoS page so don't do it unless necessaryThank you

Hello,
Still getting QOS error: device not found
Things tried:
Downgrade back to version .130 and did a hard reset, upgraded to version .134
The connection benchmark does not match the actual number IPS speed number.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Could you please repeat the process but instead downgrade to the 114 firmware, linked below.
https://kb.netgear.com/000062867/XR500-Firmware-Version-2-3-2-114
Once downgraded factory reset either through the interface or by holding the button on the back for thirty seconds.
Then re-upgrade and don't factory reset after the upgrade.
Hi Liam - do you have any idea when the next version is coming out for the XR500 please?

I believe my XR500 is dieing a slow death. I tried updating to the newest firmware and everything seemed to be fine, but after about 2 minutes my speed drops to 150-200MBS and I have a 1G service. If I connect my laptop to the ISP everything seems to be fine and getting 914MBS. I saw a video about the X7000 series and they downgraded the firmware and fixed the issue with slower speeds... anything like that suggested here and if so, which version of the firmware was used? Also, any internal upgrade I can perform on the XR500? Thanks in advance for your input!

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended. How is QoS configured?
Have you tried the beta?

- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerPlease do try the beta as mentioned above as you may see better results on that version
