Since couple of weeks my orbi app on android phone crashes everytime I try to login. It simnply freezes and the app crashes, I have tried re-installing the app, reset my router to factory settings, but nothing seems to help. Any advice is highly appreciated.

Which Android device is this?
I have two, one (Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), Android 8.0.0) crashes, the other (Huawei, Mediapad M5, Android 9.0) one doesn't.
Same behaviour with Nighthawk and Orbi apps.

Unfortunately couldnt figure it out - so I moved to my trusty little ASUS router and changed the Orbi's into AP mode. That way I am able to control my network through the ASUS UI - which by the way has all the options including parental controls free of cost - which is otherwise a subscription on Orbi... the 100 odd $ ASUS unit does it all for me
Orbi, why haven't you responded to this problem? It is appears to be an issue with the app and is clearly happening to multiple people.
- Aaron_RemyInitiateHow is this a solution? The problem is with the app. The reason for the app is so we dont have to go to a computer to check on things.

ORBI - Netgear, I have the same issue. The ORBI app locks up my phone and I can not access my ORBI device. Where is teh tech support here in a clear common problem????
- mayechoTutorSame issue on my Note9. Orbi app crashes. Have to uninstall and reinstall, then it only works once and crashes again. Have to repeat the process because I monitor several orbi setups over multiple network. Netgear needs to fix this yesterday. High priority.

Orbi app crashes. I can access Orbi online settings and manage my network from there, but not from the app. Firmware V2.7.3.22. Galaxy S7.
Try a different device to see if app crashes?
Remove and re-install the app on your S7?

App works on wife's S7, but crashes on mine. Uninstall, restart phone, reinstall, clear cache, clear data... still crashes. Sounds like a problem with my phone, any ideas to fix? Otherwise, I'll just use her phone when I want to check the network. Thanks.

Same issue , I can finally log in online but the phone app is useless, crashes when trying to log in (Samsung Galaxy S7)
Esure the app is up to date. Un-install then re-install it.
Others said one S7 worked with Orbi app, the other didn't. As mentioned for the other user:
You can try this last a last resort. Back up the phone fully. Once thats done, factory reset the phone. Get it setup with some basic stuff first, don't re-load it from the backup just yet. Go in and install Orbi app and see if it loads wtih out crashing. If it does, then you'll need to contact NG support.

Its appalling that the company has chosen to keep quiet while so many folks out there are having this same issue. If the app was built with IoS in mind, then thats okay - atleast they should advertize it that way so that while we spend $400 for the unit, all of us android users may as well spend another $800 to get an iphone !!

I am dismayed that Netgear has not responded to this issue in a meaningful way. It's been months since it was reported and it is clearly affecting quite a few people. This is not an Android problem, or a problem with a specfic model of smartphone. This is a Orbi software problem that Netgear has chosen to ignore. I spent good money for this product and it is not working properly. Netgear has had plenty of time to fix this issue. I will not be buying or recommending Netgear in the future.
- redwhinerInitiateThey need to fix the app. I'm about ready to trash the system for something else.

Factory Reseting my phone is the solution.
Orbi has made an agreement to support their device.
If netgear can not support their application, then I will request a refund.

The new update for Android seems to have fixed the problem. Released yesterday 8/3/21 - So far so good. If you haven't already, get on it.
Good to hear. Thanks for letting us know.
Enjoy.

Where is the latest Android version? I checked the app store and it is still showing the version from July 25.
What android device do you have? I have a Galaxy Tab S2 and not seeing anything since July as well.
