Orbi app not connecting via Local or Anywhere Access, cant log in from PC as administrator.

I have an Orbi AX4200 RBR750 WiFi 6 router with two satellites, but I am unable to connect through Anywhere Access or locally. My Nighthawk CM2000 2.5Gb cable modem is connected to a Mediacom ISP 1Gb fiber line. I use Windows Defender across my iPhone, iPad, and PC, as well as the Windows Defender VPN on these devices. My PC runs Total Defense Internet Security Suite CE 25.4. I also use an iPhone 16 with iOS 26.0.1, accessing Anywhere Access remotely and Local access when on-site.

The ORBI app version is 2.48.0.43. Oddly, the app shows that I am connected with a green dot under "Your Products" in Anywhere Access, but it then displays a message saying, "Device is Offline," which it is not. I am also unable to log in via Orbilogin.net or the IP address.

My WiFi, ISP, and network are functioning fine, but I lack local or remote access to perform updates, reboot remotely, or check activity.

Thanks in advance for any assistance in resolving or identifying the issue with connecting.

  • What Orbi model system do you have?

What FW version is on the RBR and RBS?

A factory reset and setup from scratch maybe needed.

May need to submit a bug report thru the Orbi app as well: How to report a bug on the Orbi App FAQ | NETGEAR Communities

I have the same issue starting 10/19. I’ve had the Orbi for four years with no issues.

I have no answers to fix the issue unfortunately. I’ve tried every solution I’ve come across except for a factory reset.

What FW version is loaded on the Orbi system?

Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

Have you tried connecting to the system with out all the security and any VPN enabled as a quick test to see if you can access the routers web page?

Since the CM modem is modem only, RBR web page should be accessible all the time at 192.168.1.1 unless you use a different IP address string.

Not able to obtain the firmware version without connecting remotely. I am not currently at this location with the ORBI. My app is not currently allowing me to look up the info. Indicates I'm connected via Anywhere Access but then pops up a dialog box saying Device is offline.

When onsite last Monday I disabled VPN turned off security sw. I tried to log in but would not allow me, cant remember the message I received.

I will try your recommendation when I return to the remote location unless you have a suggestion that would allow me to log in remotely? Thanks

Try removing the Orbi app from the mobile device then re-install and see if you can get in.

May need some NG help on this as well. Orbi app and AA has been problematic this year.

Apologies for the late reply. I had issues with Netgear’s authentication. I’m on a roll with them.

My Orbi is the AX4200 WiFi 6 RBR750.

Unfortunately I’m unsure of the firmware.

The issue started when I unplugged it. I had to move my modem and router out of the way. It wasn’t unplugged for long, but once it was back up and running the app couldn’t connect.

I’ve unplugged it before to power cycle it, but this time it became an issue.

I’ve tried deleting the app, and adjusting iOS/iphone settings but nothing has worked.

  • Thanks for all the suggestions - I reset to factory settings and was able to bring the system back online - locally and anywhere access. My issues are solved.
