Orbi RBK852 - Selection of 5GHz channel 36
New owner of RBK852. According to the app WiFi Explorer the 5GHz channel in use by Orbi is 40, despite being set to 36. I changed it to 48 and it is correctly displayed in WiFi explorer. Set it back to 36 and channel 40 is again displayed in WiFi explorer. Any experience or feedback?
Thanks

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? What browser are you using? Try a different browser?
Be sure to clear out all browser caches before entering the RBRs web page.
Thanks. Latest firmware. With my old RBK40 Channel 36 was correctly set and reported by WiFi Explorer.
Can you maybe download WiFi explorer Lite and let me know your findings?
Ok, I see this, though I'm on a older version of FW. I see 48 when I set 48, however, when i go back to 36, channel 40 appears.
I would open a support tickect regarding this please.

Probably it's a bug or a problem with the firmware, would pass all the data in the case you created so they can examine it.

First try with the previous firmware version and check if the problem still occurs ,
As it is likely to be a firmware issue, try to return to the previous Firmware , and or upgrade back to newest one .
Also check the realease notes.
FURRYe38 is on a previous firmware, same findings....
Yes it was on v11.2 for me as well...

Setup: Calix ONT > Orbi RBK850 (FW: Latest)> LAN/WLAN (2 - RBS850s)
Although I wish NG would open up the number of channels we can use on the 5GHz end. Everybody in my area equipment, although there's only one that is IT enough to control his channels. The rest would just let the routers do their thing and all seem to follow me around and crowd the channel I'm on.
I found that visually when set to 36 it looks to be centered on 42. The app I use Analiti shows both what is being seen and statistically and the dominant frequency is 40.
Eaten by the dragons...
- KMDonlonVirtuosoI just tried channel 36 & can 100% confirm the "bug"
Shows channel 40 in the web GUI along with my WiFi analyzer app but channel 36 is selected in the radio button drop down in WiFi setup. Thanks for confirming this. Hopfully NG can review this. :smileyembarrassed:
NG doesn't make it known when fixes are forth coming. User have to be patient. Any one seeing this problem is recommended to contact NG support to let them know.
Thank you.
