CAX80 No internet via WIFi but no problem with RJ45
I have problem with both of my Netgear units.
This morning i woke-up and my cellphone said no internet via wifi,
I checked on computer with wire plug been connected directly to CAX80 and i have no problem connecting to Internet.
I also have EAX80 and it also has wifi problems when i connect via WiFi to it that is attached to CAX80
I restarted(FEW) times and factory resetted both units, still same problem.
i changed DNS/NTP from Comcast to google and other open-DNS-servers and it didn't help.
i callled to Comcast they said not problems at all.....
I checked EAX80 via friend house(walking, attaching it his router) and it has no problems at all working and connecting devices via WiFi
i connected via app and it shows as i'm working offline(when it's working via wire)

It would be helpful to know:
- If the cell phone appears on the list of Attached Devices (perhaps on the app under Device Manager)?
- Does the cell phone show an active WiFi connection?
- Is the cell phone able to 'ping' other devices on the network, such as the router itself?

Would it be convenient to look in the Access Control part of the router web management (page 29 of the User Manual)
https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/CAX80/CAX80_UM_EN.pdf
and see how the cell phone is described? (i.e. "Allowed", "Blocked", etc.)

Allowed 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0(via logs)
All new devices are set to allow to access.

Turn OFF Protection Engine on the CAX80s web page and see if this helps:
NETGEAR Nighthawk - Protection Engine Feature FAQ | NETGEAR Communities
What channels are you using on the CAX80? Try 1 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 or 48 on 5Ghz.
Is FW updated on the EAX80?
What is distances between the CAX80 and EAX80? 30 feet is starting distance or more.

Just wanted to say that I was having similar issues to OP with my CAX80 - woke up yesterday morning with no internet access on Wi-Fi OR Ethernet even though the connection status looked good in the modem dashboard. Called my ISP and everything looked good to them as well. After resetting the modem several times I was eventually able to get internet access through the Firefox browser but nothing else…which was super strange.
I disabled the Protection Engine feature like you suggested and it fixed everything! Now all my devices are connecting like normal. Thank you 🙏🏻

I had similar CAX80 issues. Hard wired devices worked fine, Wi-Fi devices could hook up to the router but had no internet access and nighthawk app wasn't working right either.
After multiple attempts to get the wi-fi working again, I ended up doing factory reset, uninstalled the nighthawk mobile app and started all over as if it was my initial set up of the router and the app. Everything is now up and running.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've had to do this since purchasing the CAX80 in October of 2023. Very frustrating and I don't get why this happens periodically.
Another ongoing issue we've had is that our Wi-Fi continually connects and disconnects to our devices. Hoping it stays stable this time.
I came into this thread after reading about disabling the Protection Engine feature. Is that something I should check and do to prevent this from recurring?

It did not help
5.1.1.8
Channels have nothing to do with it.
2-10 feet

And you did disable Protection Engine?
Disable Smart Connect.
Try a Networking Reset on the phone. Not a full factory reset, just a networking reset. Check with the phone mfr on where this item will be located...

A device with IP address 0.0.0.0 will not have internet access. What cell phone is this? Was there a recent update to the cell phone software?
Do any other WiFi devices have problems with internet access?
- CATAHATutor
Yes all of them did have
Thermostat, Cameras, Laptops, Cellphones
Android
No updates
Any chance of a fix? It's not acceptable to have to amend browser settings when this was a non-issue prior to the most recent firmware version.

I did tried disabling Protection Engine - NO Changes
I did re-flashed firmware (on both units) and then left units for FEW hours without power - NO Change
Strange part:
30 Minutes before Comcast tech arrival everything started working by itself and returned to normal....
