netgear nighthawk x4 EX7300, leading to network performance issues
hello to all
I have installed the nightwawk EX7300 wifi extender. the Wifi extension works fine but the original wifi signal is not working properly
- the signal is identified
- I can log into it with a PC or my mobile phone
- I can go to google homepage, but all other websites don't work. Other devices cannot log into it.
Any clue?
Thank you for your help.

Hello JohnnyFR
I would factory reset the extender try to do setup again. Make sure your router is using WPA2 security and also make sure your are using the latest firmware.

Did you ever resolve this? I have the same issue... Extender works great. I lost the orginal access point and the ethernet connections in the original router don't work now. Frustrating.

Hello uconnbill
Are you saying the ethernet does not work on your main router with the extender connected to it?

hello to both of you
I have never been able to fix this issue. I have rebooted, updated the software ...
Darren suggestion never worked for me :(

I just purchased the X10 and the EX7300. Internet access would go down to zero as soon as the extender was plugged in and connected (both WiFi and ethernet). I solved the problem by updating the firmware on both devices. Then, using the Netgear Genie, shut down the 5G access on the extender. Apparently, the conflict occurs when the 2G and the 5G on the extender are both enabled. The lastest extender firmware fixed part of the problem, but not all of it. I chose to only leave the 2G enabled as a first test - it worked so I left it. I have not tried the 5G-only option yet and probably won't unless it becomes necessary.
Hope this help anyone that is having this problem.
