Can't turn on ReadyCloud

Once again someone else that can't turn on ReadyCloud...

Although my serial numbers match unlike people in the other dicussions.

I try enabling ReadyCloud on the admin page, it gives me the messages about how it is replacing ReadyDrop, it starts loading, but then it does not switch on.

I have tried first disabling readydrop but when I try enabling readycloud it just re-enables readydrop.

Im on 6.4.2.

There are multiple possible reasons why ReadyCLOUD may not be turned on.

One of them is the one you've seen in some other threads.

If you've set a static I.P. on the NAS have you checked to make sure that the DNS Server addresses are specified correctly?

Can you try turning on ReadyCLOUD again, then download your logs and send the zip file in (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?

      Hi,

      Thanks for getting back.

No I have not set a static IP address. I've sent a PM with the logs attached.

  • Will ReadyCloud malfunction with a static IP? I have ReadyCloud enabled now, but I am moving to static IPs for both my device and externally. Is there a known issue?

It works with static IPs - mdgm mentions them because it is fairly common for users to make mistakes when configuring them.

But if your router supports address reservation (most do), I suggest using that feature instead of configuing static IPs.  That allows you to manage the address assignment from one place, and simplifies migration to new routers (or changing to a different private address range).

  • Hi All,

My Nas device also stopped working in the middle of a file transfer last night.

Trying to go through readycloud i am told that the device is offline or not connected.

AT the time the broadband (BT) failed but i managed to get that working again but still i can't get the NAS drive online. Wifi is working for everything else.

The NAS drive DLNA is working becuase i can still stream videos. I just can't access the thing through readycloud.

I'm new to this stuff... Any ideas??

      Hello WWS,

      Welcome to the community!

Are you getting red X mark under Cloud for Internet and/or Services? Make sure the Internet still works on the router where the NAS is. If the NAS is connected to a switch and the switch is connected to the router, check the connection between the switch and router. If all are okay with the router and switch, try setting 8.8.8.8 as secondary DNS in the admin page of the router.

      Regards,

        Hi guys,

Could someone get back to me with my original problem. It's still not been resoved.

        Thanks

  • Try this...

    1. Turn off ReadyCloud from the NAS admin screen.
    2. Change the network setting for both Eth0 and Eth1 to DHCP.
    3. Activate the ReadyCloud Service from the NAS admin screen.
    4. Check the status of ReadyCloud service in the top left-hand corner of the admin screen. Both Intenet Available and Services Available shoud both have a green checkmark next to them.
      1. If both items show the appropriate status proceed to step 5.
      2. If both items do not show as Available, enter the anti-virus menu and attempt to update the anti-virus library. If your ReadyNAS is not receiving an internet connection this action will fail, and this indicates you have a larger network configuration problem.
      3. If Internet Available has a checkmark but Services Available does not, your problem is specific to ReadyCloud. If this is the case I will have to write out another solution for you.
    5. Actively monitor the service status of ReadyCloud for a couple of days, if the problem happens again, reach out to me and I will tell you how to fix it permanently.

      Hi,

I followed the steps and I am still having the same issue.

Internet and services are green but when I toggle the ReadyCloud service it still does not activate despite also trying to turn off ReadyDROP and ReadyNas Remote, before toggling readyCloud.

  • I have the exactly same problem.

When I click on turning On my ReadyCLOUD it loads.... loads... then put it back onto the OFF position with no message.

    Why in HELL ?

      Hello teflonhybrid,

This thread where you posted is inactive. Do you have the same display of admin page > Cloud as horia747 posted?

Yes, same display, except ReadyDROP doesn't exist anymore.

        Thanks for the reply.

  • Firmware is the latest one.
    I'm running a ReadyNas 10200.
    Serial number is 3ERA44EG00D57
    Firmware is 6.5.0
I've upgraded/transfered my account into a MyNETGEAR account as requested in the update.

Can't give you a screenshot right now, I'm not at the office atm.
  • Forget to tell you that the NAS is plugged into an Ethernet Switch that goes directly into the modem/box/router (no idea how you call it as english is not my mother language)

      Hi teflonhybrid,

Thanks for the information that you have provided. Can you confirm if you can log in your migrated ReadyCLOUD account on the web portal page?

      Kind regards,
