Qbittorrent update
The qbittorent included in the readynas distribution is quite old (2.9.8-1) and buggy. It appears there are newer compatible ubuntu built distributions available. For example, see here: http://www.tecmint.com/install-qbittorr ... -in-linux/.
I installed add-apt-repository and of course it doesn't work on os6 because of the netgear damaged ca-certificates package. Has anyone gotten a newer version of qbittorrent running on OS6 and could you share instructions?

- dsm1212ApprenticeThe 1.0.3 deb package is still there. BTW What readynas box do you have? When super has "all" in the name of the deb package I think that means it supports all architectures. I had only given him the update for amd64 which would match all the more powerful boxes with "desktop" intel processors, I'm not sure about others. Or he found I was requiring a library that isn't there by default. Or there is a config upgrade issue. Hard to tell what problem is in play knowing only that it won't start :-).
steve - h3nk3tTutorI finally got it working again. qBittorrent 1.0.3. Through ssh i ran apt-get purge qbittorrent-nox. Then re-installed from Admin-GUI :neener: :neener: :neener:
I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW I COULD MISS SUCH A BASIC THING
anyway.....I'm back and satisfied running qBittorrent insted of transmission on my RN104 unit - chopin70VirtuosoHi,
I can't find the above mentioned v3.1.12 in drop box, only 1.0.3
Please, any link to the latest release? - dsm1212ApprenticeI'm not sure if it was because of h3nk3t's problems but Super pulled it. If you are SSH comfortable I can PM you the two files you need to replace to upgrade. I fear there was some lib dependency I previously satisfied on my nas that I don't know about. If the new version doesn't run for you we could probably see from ldd what is missing. Let me know if you want to try it.

thanks
I am fine with SSH and linux commands. However, I mainly wanted to test latest version to see if it adds tracker edit. For now, I found that only uTorrent can remove trackers from the torrent. Other clients can at best add trackers, not edit existing ones. Only issue I have with uTorrent 3.0 is that after restart, it won't resume torrents. It also doesn't take into account the changes I do in the conf file. Only changes in GUI. It was a bit tough to configure properly the share permissions so that it accepts them. It needs admin rw rights on the share.
Does the latest Qbittorrent permits removing some trackers? If not, then no real need for me to try it
Thanks again - dsm1212ApprenticeI'm running an even newer 3.2.0Alpha build at the moment and it has a way to add trackers but no way to delete. So I doubt the feature exists yet in qbittorrent.
steve - chopin70Virtuosomany thanks,
I will stick to utorrent for now + latest Transmission if I need something more
Best regards - dsm1212ApprenticeBTW I used utorrent 3.0 for a long time and it always restarted torrents after a restart. I had a cron job that would stop it and update the block list everyday so I'm 100% sure this is true. What is it that is happening for you? Are they still listed after the restart but they are paused or are they gone entirely?
steve - chopin70VirtuosoThanks for all your follow up
Here's utorrent version I use:
It is latest from Super Poussin dropbox.
When I turnoff the nas or restart it, the queue is emptied. Seeds and downloads are removed from the list.
One time only they showed stopped
I had no issues on OS 4.x and uTorrent v2.0
This started with OS 6 and uTorrent v3.0
I do not have "Automatically load torrents from" checked. I tried to check it but it won't change any thing
edit: Disabling write caching seems to fix the issue. The torrents status remains, however, in download torrents can end stopped on restart. But at least they do not disappear - dsm1212ApprenticeYou mean write caching in utorrent right? I found that if I tried to tweak the utorrent settings too much I often got myself into trouble. Torrents not finishing correctly or whatever. Occasionally I'd have to wipe the settings and restart from the .conf file to get back to a sane state.
Using OS6 there is a newer utorrent 3.3. See the debian 7 64 bit version here: http://www.utorrent.com/downloads/linux
See the discussion link on that page for more info.
You would have to replace the executable yourself. ssh in, stop utorrent, move aside the one that is there so you don't lose it, drop this one in it's place, restart utorrent. I no longer have it installed, but I did that with every new version and it worked so it should.
