Disk tray for ReadyNAS Duo
I received a ReadyNAS RND2150-100NAS as part payment for some work. It however does not have any disks or disk trays. I used a loaned disk to test it and it seems fine. Searching this forum I beleive that the disk-tray for the ReadyNAS NV and NV+ is the same as the Duo. Is this correct? the part number is RND4TRAY1-10000S.
And any info on wher to buy?

If you're in the US you can order it here: http://store.netgear.com/store/netgear/en_US/pd/productID.124539100/parentCategoryID.44396500/categoryId.44397700
Welcome to the forum! - PapaBear1ApprenticeIf when you get the trays, if they don't include the screws, for a temporary fix you can rob some of the small flathead screws holding the side panels on, and the back plate on. The drives are ok with just two screws in a diagonal pattern. (That hint of only two screws came from a Jedi who mentioned they do that in the lab when testing drives).
Then ask Netgear for some. If they are unwilling to send some, post back. - BALR1415AspirantThank you both for the information.
Amazon had the tray listed (and free shipping). I ordered it Friday and it got here Monday - by USPS!!!
However I had a hard time opening the latch - the button could not be pushed in. I keep trying to depress the button unsuccessfully with no luck - until I slid a small plastic tab (inside the tray behind the button) up. And then the latch snapped open. Is this a locking mechanism? It seems like a dangerous thing. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredSo it's a tray with the old design (circular button)? There's a guide to releasing a stuck tray here: http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/hardware/how_can_i_release_a_stuck_disk_tray
If you the disk tray broke when you attempted to release it contact NetGear technical support and they should be able to arrange a replacement. - PapaBear1ApprenticeWork the release latch several times to wear down the flashing marks and it should work easier. Initially the ones on my NV+ stuck on occasion, but after working them a bit, I have never had one stick again.
