New disk installation
Hello,
I have to replace a disk failed on my ReadyNAS NV; I have phisically replaced the hard disk with an other one and I now I need to add the Volume.
When I go to the volume setting I don't see the new disk but if I go on the system status/Health I can see all the disks.
Do you know why?
Thanks

- (a) what firmware are you running on the NAS?
(b) how many disks were there on the NAS before, and what sizes were they? What model and size did you use for the replacement?
(c) how many volumes did you have on the NAS before?
(d) Were you running flexraid or xraid? - ataiAspirant(a) what firmware are you running on the NAS?

This is the log
Sat Apr 19 08:40:02 CEST 2014 Volume D failed to be added. - vandermerweMasterYou must be using flexraid.
Remove the new disk.
Upgrade your firmware.
Delete any existing partitions from the new disk using a PC.
Reinsert the new disk. - xraid and flexraid are the only two modes of operation, so you have to be running one or the other. Since you have 4 volumes, it must be flexraid.
4K sector (2 TB) drive support was added in 4.1.7. So vandermerwe is correct, you need to update your firmware and reinstall the new disk. - ataiAspirantMany thanks to all!!
Now it works.
The volume have been added successfully
