ReadyNAS Duo
New here....just got this box and I'm trying to reset it so I can
1. get access to the web interface and update the firmware
2. reset it to default, so that it can show up on my network for access to the web pages
RAIDar, (RAIDar_Win_4_3_8) sees it but it has an IP I can't access, not on my network: "setup" and "Browse" on RAIDar are all greyd out.
I've downloaded RAIDiator-arm-V5.3.9 to install on it. Is this the latest firmware?
This looks like a cool box, based on what I've read here, can't wait to exhaust it features. Anyone with ideas, please share.
Many thanks!

- nestaAspirant[quote="mdgm"]You should see the light patterns shown in that link as you scroll through the boot options assuming you have the v2.
Can you confirm you have a v2 from reading this article?:
...now disk 2 is sollid green and the power led is flashing. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retired??????
My article indicates that means you have a v1 hardware revision 2 not a v2.
If you have a v2 it would say "ReadyNAS Duo v2" on the front.
To do a factory default.
1. Power down the unit
2. Press and hold the reset button
3. Power on the unit
4. The disk LEDs will blink once at 5 seconds and again after 30 seconds. Release the reset button after the second blink (about 30 seconds). - nestaAspirant

Thanks a lot for the clarification. I'd have to re-download the right firmware. Where can I find that link, please help.
I've done what you said here and now the power LED is fading in and out and all disks, plus backup are flashing...should I just wait. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredCan you see the unit in RAIDar? During the factory default process the NAS should appear and disappear from RAIDar.
The firmware is on the internal flash in the unit. When you are able to open Frontview you should be able to check for updates via System > Update
You can find the latest firmware update here: http://www.readynas.com/downloads - nestaAspirant

I can, but it's the same; "Setup," "Browse," "Format," all greyed out. The old IP is still there. And it's still doing what I said it was doing last. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat is showing in the Info (far right) column?

Yes, I can. But "Format," "Browse", etc. are all greyed out. I just restarted it and it's doing the same as my last update; power LED slowly flashing, and all other lights flashing. Also, it says no disk detected. It still has the old IP.
Thanks a lot. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDid you insert the disk properly? It shouldn't say no disks detected if the disk is properly inserted.

(BLUE CIRCLE) which I think means: Background task active A lengthy background task such as a system update is in progress. Sorry, that was the extreme left. The extreme right has a Green light on fan, and "no disks detected."
