resetting readynas nv+
hi
i have a issue with resetting my readynas .
i have followed the instructions about ressetting nv+.
it stops every time with the message . tftp arp error .
what can be the problem ?
the reason i want to reset is that i can't update raider from version 4.1.7
it seams to be stuck in that version even if i install and overwrite the
current version .
the reason im trying to update raidar is beacause i can't install with my ip address .
when i push the installation button safari is trying to open neatgear but always fail .
everything seams to be ok when i scan with raidar . every light is green etc.. .
i have a mac pro osx 10.7.4
safari version 6.0
my partners readynas works fine and hi has version 4.1.8 on his raider .
please ! help me with this
best regards fredrik

- I think you mean Radiator [NAS firmware]. RAIDar is a windows utility for the NAS.
What instructions are you following exactly? - monodeadAspiranthi thanks .
im using RAIDar version 4.1.7 on my mac .
instructions are .Power off your unit.
Using a straightened paper clip, press and hold the Reset button.
Press the Power button to power on the unit.
Continue to press the Reset button until the status display screen shows an boot menu message.
Press the Backup button to scroll through the boot mode options.
Press and release Reset button to confirm your boot menu selection.

It sounds like you probably have a v1 (silver chassis). Take a look at the instructions in the hardware manual: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20683 - monodeadAspirantok thanks .
i will check that .
best fredrik - monodeadAspiranthi again .

and i doesn't now how to change it rom 4.1.7 .
the manual says that 4,1,8 works fine but i don't know how to get that version

best regards fredrik - monodeadAspirantthanks .
ive tried that several times but when i launch the downloaded file. raid starts to scan
and then my readynas 4.1.7 appears .
even if i install it and chose overwrite old version. its still 4.1.7 .
please
thanks fredrik - Perhaps the OS partition is too full. Try doing an OS reinstall (which will preserve your data and most settings, but will reset the admin password and also configure the IP settings to DHCP).
- monodeadAspirantthanks . i will try to do that, but i think i already done all "resetting" i can do .
il be back ! Thanks fredrik
