Windows 7 NV+ Compatibility/Support
Has there been any update on when the NV+ will support Windows 7?
Mine is sitting collecting dust. It's almost to the point of ditching it completely and getting one from a company that supports a current OS.

2. Do you have a password set on the PC?
3. Are the user id and password the same on both? (Ignore if no password set on NAS.
4. What anti-malware suite are you running? If no suite, what individual applications (FWIW I am using Avast! and SuperAntiSpyware, although have used AVG in the past with no problems).
5. Have you tried a direct connection?
6. You placed your document folder on the NAS rather than individual data folders? Did you establish the Documents folder with Win7 on this machine or another machine?
1. Yes I have a password set on the NAS, I can use ReadyNAS Remote on my other Win 7 laptopn plus all my other devices including via an FTP connection.
2. No password on the user account for the desktop [the desktop is the one that is not working].
3. I had BitDefender 2012 installed, I thought this may be the issue so I uinstalled BitDefender and RNR and rebooted. I also disabled all Windows Firewall and Security options. Still the same issue.
5. I am able to connect to the NAS's admin settings from the desktop [via the IP address, I have dyndns address for the NAS for my FTP connections so I can also connect via the url that redirects to the IP]
6. No, there are 2 shares on the NAS and as I said it works from every other device.
I am finding it very confusing because it was working for a while with no problems. I did clean my C: with an application called CCleaner to remove some temp files etc and free some hard disk space. I am wondering if it removed a temp file for RNR? I have reinstalled RNR so I thought it would reload all its required files. - samjoconnorAspirantSorry, I see I missed 3. The login details match. I also have a ReadyNAS Ultra 2
- PapaBear1ApprenticeYou said you are using ReadyNAS Remote. Is the desktop a remote connection or on the network?
If you moved the MyDocument folder from another machine to the NAS, it might not permit you to access it from the desktop.
I have several data folders set up in the appropriate shares and have access from any of my machines. Do you have problems accessing files in either the backup or media shares? - samjoconnorAspirant

The desktop is a remote machine. I have not moved the My Documents folder to the NAS. I can't access any shares remotely, I double click on the NAS and it takes me to C:\Users\Documents - PapaBear1ApprenticeI don't use ReadyNAS Remote, so I can't help you there. Hopefully some who does may come along.
You might want to open a new discussion strictly about ReadyNAS Remote. The current heading is not directed that way. One of the problems with adding onto an existing discussion with a different problem. - samjoconnorAspirant
