How to make database with PhpMyAdmin
Hi all there, this maybe a nOOb question but I have been trying allot and reading at google, still It aint working for me.
Can someone give me a start up on making the database server ?
This is what I got,
@ the admin page of my readynas I got :
Use PhpMyAdmin - Configure PhpMyAdmin
So when I go to Configure PhpMyAdmin and make a server over there, I cant seem to login @ PhpMyAdmin ..
I am running a few website also with databases but never had to make a database server before because I did external hosting on those.
Hope you get my problem and some can help me :-)
Greetings,
Wilco ( Netherlands ) (sorry if english is bad  )

Also some problems require good familiarity with Linux shell commands to address (something which one wouldn't expect many users to have).
Also every case is different and for some issues symptoms may have a variety of causes which can mean that troubleshooting is quite an involved process.
And at the end of a day there are many post unanswered because the problem was or wasn't solved via different communication channel.
That was the point I was making Jarkod, unfortunately given the comments were made by me, it gets automatically written off and the message given gets ignored. These days it's a closed shop and only certain voices are heard, everything else is heard as dissent.
Solving via Teamviewer is great for the person with the issues and easy for the help giver, but it doesn't make for a helpful, productive and lively community.Wilco87 wrote:
The folder you refer to doesnt exist, when I browse the server the normal way ( windows explorer ) but also not when i try to cd/foldername/ it in putty. The AllowNoPassword is at the True option, thats what i got so far in the PHPmyAdmin config module.
I made a server in that config area, I can change some settings, I can download the config.php file. But if I have that file, I cannot place it back because I have no folder to put it to. Still next to that its strange that if the no password is set to true, it stil doesnt login the server where I can setup databases and that kinda stuff.
I'm lazy and use WinSCP (freebie) to browse my NAS as admin, simply because it's easier to tinker inside the NAS when you're a lazy Windows user like me 75% of the time.
Which PMA addon are you using, WhoCares? or Super_Poussin?- fastfwdVirtuoso

But is that really the case on this forum? I guess it's possible that people might be arranging a huge number of Teamviewer sessions in PMs, where I'd never see them, but the ones that I do see on the forums -- and there aren't many; maybe one or two a month at most -- are nearly always concluded with a detailed description of how the problem was fixed. Hi there, thanks for the tip ( the application ) it works very nice. But still. I cannot find the folder of php admin anywhere.
I am using the plugin from readynasextras so that whould be the on from WhoCares right ? - kblAspirantI know I'm bringing this older post alive... but since I didn't see resolution and recently installed the WhoCares? MyPHPAdmin plugin myself on my ReadyNAS (albeit Ultra)... I did manage to figure out where this setting needs to be made is in /etc/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php. Just need to uncomment the line with AllowNoPassword and then you can login with root and no password.
