TransmissionBT 2.52 (arm) [SOLVED]
I hope this is right place to post about a bug i've found in latest TransmissionBT. When uninstalling this add-on there's a question if you want to keep your current settings, if you answer "no damn it, that's why i'm reinstalling this add-on" /etc/transmission-daemon/settings.json file remains on the system intact. I guess installer supposed to remove it?
Also, if i stop this add-on and edit settings.json (via add-on manager), save and try to start it again i get error "service failed to start". Then if i open settings.json once again it contains 10-15 lines of text only (while originally it has 70 lines).
To get it working i had to manually stop this service (/etc/init.d/transmission-daemon stop), pull settings.json, edit, push it back to /etc/transmission-daemon and then /etc/init.d/transmission-daemon start. I'm not too sure if it's meant to be like that...
The other thing would be "Kettu UI". I'd love to use it but it doesn't work properly. Global download/upload speed always shows 0 kB/s, adding block list URL doesn't seem to work either. At first it shows number of blocked IP's added but after leaving and entering TransmissionBT UI it shows "0" again.
Sorry for my poor English, i'm still learning it

- WhoCares_MentorThanks for the report, will look into this.
- AllWinAspirantNow that was fast! Thank you for reply.
- AllWinAspirantFinally i've found the cause of these issues (thanks mdgm for some hints!). It's a character "&". Place it anywhere in settings.json and this file will get corrupted.
My original post - viewtopic.php?f=23&t=63497#p355933
Temporary solution: do not use "&" character :D - WhoCares_MentorFixed both problems in one go ;) Please download the latest version and let me know your results.
-Stefan - AllWinAspirantThanks for quick update, but... At least for me 0.3.5 is even worse, unfortunately. Now all settings are squashed into one line and still it ends before "&" character. Also uninstalling add-on won't remove settings.json file. Could anyone else confirm same?
- WhoCares_MentorNow that's strange for I tested it on two different systems and it worked as expected. Did you edit the settings.json manually on the command line?
-Stefan - AllWinAspirantJust went to Dashboard, clicked on Transmission icon, disabled it (stopped service), then clicked on button "Edit settings.json". Once finished editing saved file and started add-on again, then i got "Service failed to start". But if i login to ReadyNAS with SSH download/edit/upload seetings.json then everything works as expected... Looks like i'll have to perform "factory reset" then :?
- WhoCares_MentorHuh? No, don't. Wait for 0.3.6 - I found an edge case where the config may not be deleted which may have caused your problems. 0.3.6 will be ready in 5 minutes or so.
-Stefan - WhoCares_Mentor0.3.6 is online.
-Stefan - AllWinAspirantMay i ask for a link?

"Current Version: 2.52 v0.3.5"
http://readynasxtras.com/readynas-arm-a ... ission-arm
"Version: 0.3.4"
EDIT. Never mind, found it - readynasxtras.com/addons/files/arm/TransmissionBT_2.52-arm-0.3.6.bin
EDIT 2: Sorry, still the same as on v0.3.5.
EDIT 3: No, not the same. Now when removing add-on, settings.json is being removed also.
