Connection refused - rsync from BackupAssist
Hi,
I have purchased a ReadyNAS Pro 2 (RNDP2000) fw RAIDiator 4.2.23
It has been set up with a rsync share, rsync access is enabled and I entered an rsync user with password.
BackupAssist has three rsync modes:
Rsync over SSH
Rsync Daemon
Rsync Daemon over SSH tunnel
Everything works fine in Rsync Daemon mode, when I test the connection everything connects and there are green lights everywhere.
However I would like to use one of the SSH modes. When I test these, I get a 'Connection refused' error.
Do I need to use a third party certificate? Please point me in the right direction (and to a step-by-step guide for this Netgear model :-)
Thanks for helping me out

- bushtor1AspirantHi and thanks for the reply.
I read the article you mention before I posted, but as I understand it, the two described scenarios are both 'controlled' by the ReadyNAS box.
In my case the backup process is controlled by the BackupAssist application (from a windows server), and the ReadyNAS box is just supposed to accept the connection, provide the rsync service and receive the files.
So I need ReadyNAS to act as a server which only accepts rsync connections from other (BackupAssist) hosts. In BackupAssist I can enter a username / password to access the rsync server. Should it be possible to connect using this user credentials when I connect, or do I need a key file? If the latter is the case, I assume that it should be created at the BackupAssist server?
Thanks for comments on this

Are your server and NAS at two different sites (will you be backing up over the Internet between them?).
