Dashboard/Frontview not working
Hello, I've been running a Duo v2 for the past 6 months with all running smoothly but today I can't access the main dashboard :( I put in the correct IP address, get the login screen and then the page goes to the loading Dashboard page (version 1.0.0.264) but never progresses on from that. Everything else seems to be working ok, I can access files normally from networked computers, can SSH into the Readynas, can run Logitech media server etc... Any ideas :?
I've been reading other posts so have already tried updating the firmware (it was already running 5.3.7 but re-installed) via SSH (complete novice with this type of access, so just following other posts on how to do it!!). Here's the results from:
Any help would be really appreciated
Many thanks in advance :D

No such logs in my NV V2 unit, before you contacting support center,I would suggest you delete folder /frontview then perform OS reintall using boot menu to repair Dashboard if it has problem. - chirpaLuminaryJim, what does initrd.log show? That will give details on the firmwares it has been upgraded with. If de niro's box is a fresh 5.3.7, he would see different to someone from 5.3.1 upgraded.
- jimbofAspirantThanks for your responses but how do I do either of your requests. What do I need to type in to Puttty to get the initrd.log and what do I type to delete folders!?!? Sorry complete novice when it comes to this kind of thing. Also a little concerned about deleting folders!
- de_niroGuideThis is what initrd.log shows in my unit
more /var/log/frontview/initrd.log

- jimbofAspirantJust seen the latest few posts, so had already taken things into my own hands, backed up everything overnight and have just performed a factory reset.....still getting the same issue and just seeing the readynas logo, a swirling circle hour glass and "Dashboard 1.0.0264" (same as before)
Now SSH is no longer enabled so can't run the above logs or change anything. Not really wanting to enable SSH just in case I have to use Netgear technical support but if someone has any great ideas then happy to try anything out!!
Also, as I said originally, all functionality seems to be working fine and "browsing" from RAIDar works fine
Ideas? it's running Firmware 5.3.7. I can only think it's something to do with my pc's (tried it on 3 different computers with firewalls/antivirus etc all disabled, one has a completely fresh install of Win 7)? - wauguxxAspirantHello,
I am the owner of a ready nas V2 and I am having the same problem I can not access the dash board. Tech support said back up everything and do a factory reset. That is a poor answer. Now I see I am not the only one having this problem. How do we get netgear to fix this problem? - wauguxxAspirantI need help with this also. SO far I did an OS reinstall. I have 5 TB of data on here and almost no way to do a factory reinstall.
thanks - jimbofAspirantgoing to try again now to os install, re-factory install etc...... will keep you all posted
- jimbofAspirantSolved (well found the cause!) - had a brainwave this morning that it couldn't be the Duo that was the problem as I'd factory reset multiple times and tried different disks, so the only other thing that's changed on all my PCs since the last time Frontview worked is Internet Explorer 10....bingo, uninstalled and it's now working.
Just serached for this in the forums and it seems only a few people have had the same issue and all back last year (when I guess IE10 would have been a beta or in Windows 8)
I know the simple solution is use Firefox, Chrome etc... but that's not really a proper fix. Is there someting I should adjust in IE10 to get Frontview to work or will their be an update to fix this compatability issue?
