Install trouble
I just received my Duo V2. Turned it on with a WD Green 1.5 TB WD15EARS and found Corrupt Boot in the RAIDar program. Turned it off and removed the disk and booted again. Now it said No disks detected, but wouldn't let me into setup. Tried accessing through the browser using the correct IP, but could not access. Tried to ping the IP with 100% loss. Tried to factory reset, with no change in behavior. Tried to boot using OS reinstall option, but nothing changes. Also tried to click the "Locate" button in RAIDar, but no LEDs flash on my unit. There is a blue light (not flashing) in front of my unit in RAIDar. And the Model comes up as --.

- ReadySECUREApprenticeHave you tried the factory default with the drive in the NAS.
Also, check that the drive is on the HCL. - GeHeAspirantI tried with both a WD15EARS and a WD15EADS with the same result. They are not on the HCL, but the 2TB model is. But I should be able to access setup without any drives in it, right?
- ReadySECUREApprenticeDue to the fact that you will be unable to partition a drive on the system, it's not likely.
I would look into returning that drive and crediting the cost to a purchase of a drive on the list. That way you could be certain that the system will not provide unexpected behavior like this. - GeHeAspirantSudden turn of events. I left it running with a disk inside when I went to the gym, and now it seems to work. Not quite done yet, however, as I can't log in to the unit using the default login "admin" and "netgear1" password.
Any recommendations? - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserWith the NV+ v2 and Duo v2, the default Dashboard admin password is 'password'.
- GeHeAspirantRight. I found it in another post somewhere. Status as of now is that my disk seems to work. I can copy some files to it, but when I tried to transfer large amount of data, it said that I needed more space. Strange, since this is a 1.5TB disk. Entering the System-tab, when I click Volumes, no information appears. Any idea why this is happening? Is there any way of formating the disk now?
EDIT: Under the health tab, I can see "WDC WD15EADS-00P8B0 1397 GB", but it still won't accept large chunks of data? One file at a time is ok.
EDIT 2: Copying one file at a time was ok, until i had copied 5 or so movies. Then the disk was "full" - ReadySECUREApprenticeAfter the edits to the post above, were you able to see anything in the volume section?
Have you checked to see if there's a firmware update for the drive itself?
Under the health status, are you seeing any SMART errors, such as ATA errors? - GeHeAspirantWD doesn't seem to have a fw update for either of the drives. In the health tab, I cannot see any SMART errors, but "The paths for the shares listed below could not be found. Typically, this occurs when the ReadyNAS is unable to access the data volume. media backup" is listed in the logs.
I then deleted the two shares, and tried to make a new one. Decided to call it "test", but this, apparently, was violating the naming rules as only alpha numericals, dollar sign, underscore and something else could be used in the names.
Rebooted and did a volume check on boot. Received this email shortly after:
"e2fsck 1.41.14 (22-Dec-2010)
fsck.ext4: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/c/c
Possibly non-existent device?"

Checked the WD site, but no fw update availablereadysecure1985 wrote: Under the health status, are you seeing any SMART errors, such as ATA errors?
No SMART errors - ReadySECUREApprenticeYou can try performing an OS reinstall on the unit to see if it will help. I think we are seeing all the reasons that the drive did not make it on to the HCL. It is possible that we are just running into hardware conflicts.
