ReadyNAS NV+ won't power up
My question is I bought it Jan of 2007 before Infrant was bought by NetGear. Do I still have a valid warranty with this unit?
By power up, I mean it is dead. As if the power cord was not plugged in. No sign of life.
Thanks,
K

- chirpaLuminaryWhat was your RMA #?
- chirpaLuminaryFound it, #954965. I've sent an email to the RMA center about the missing instructions, so hopefully future users won't run into that.
- jackaninnyAspirantMy trusty ReadyNas NV+ has serial # 000D-A201-24xx - I believe I'm in the range and I cannot power the unit on currently. Can someone confirm I should be calling support? Thanks.
- chirpaLuminaryYes, that is in range, call support to get it sorted out.
- jackaninnyAspirantOk I called support and opened a case. At first hey wanted to charge me for a new power supply. After talking to a manager she said there would be no charge IF I sent the old power supply in first and then they would send me the replacement part.
Is this the way this particular issue is being handled or can I get the new part sent out to me first and then return the old part?
Thanks.
Case # 137-195-37 - jackaninnyAspirantBumping for RMA exchange process clarification. Thanks.

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=45731&p=260780#p2607801. Standard Exchange - I pay one-way shipping and send the defective PSU to Netgear first. Upon receipt, they will send out replacement.
2. Advanced Exchange - $19.95 - I pay one-way shipping, however, Netgear will send out the PSU in advance.
3. Advanced Exchange Next Business Day - $49.95 - Basically same as advanced exchange, but faster! - jackaninnyAspirantThat's what I needed. Thanks.
When I called back in the rep that helped me said because it falls in the defective range the advanced shipping is no charge. If I wanted next day advanced shipping it would have been $25. I guess it pays to call back until you get the best deal. - breedAspirantThese things must be on some kind of countdown timer set for right about now... walked in this morning and mine was out, no lights, no fans. Mine is in the S/N(MAC) range as well. Called 888-NETGEAR after reading this article and explained the situation to multiple people. Had to push them a little because I bought this device so long ago and its out of warranty. But, they eventually processed an RMA and I should be getting the new device/PSU soon.
Seems that using the word "warranty exemption" helps ;)
- breed - keatonleeAspirantHi,
I have the power supply unit issue as well and am trying to get a replacement.
Any chance there has been a change to Netgear's policy re: replacement of failed PSUs? I have serial number 000D-A201-01xx and have been communicating with Kari Duke of Netgear's customer service. She's wanting to know when I purchased the device to see if they can replace my PSU. I purchased this in 2007 or 2006 - am still looking for a copy of the receipt. I had forwarded a copy of the previous service of the device which was performed by Infrant - that doesn't seem to help.
I copied this thread for her, but doesn't seem to help.
Is my serial number not in the right zone?
Ken
