RN102 - Management service offline after 6.2.3 update
Hi,
I'm running a RN102, NV+ and a RN104 at work, and I updated the RN102 to 6.2.3 today, as soon as I saw that there was a new firmware available.
The installation was unsuccessful, and I got an error message teling me to reboot the device. I rebooted it, and the power-LED began flashing blue (which it still does, an hour later).
I am unable to logon to the admin-interface, the device responds to ping and I am able to browse the smb-shares. When using RAIDar, I am getting the error Management srevice is offline", this message appear after the device has been online for ~2-3 minutes - before that no errors.
I have not yet tried to do a factory reset or anything, I thouhgt I'd try my luck here first.
Screenshot of the error-message from the admin-page aswell as RAIDar:

Cheers,
Martin

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredGGITech encountered the app uninstallation issue on 6.2.2. The problem he encountered is not an issue that would be run into on 6.2.3.
- I have the same problem after upgrade to 6.2.3 with the device RN 3220. But the device do not have the SSH enabled. Is there any solutions for this issue? And this device is our production server. We can't restore the device to factory settings.
- simaniAspirantHello !
I am experiencing the same issues on my RN102 since the update.
Symptoms :
* When I connect to http://NAS_IP I am not redirected to https://NAS_IP/admin as I used to be before the update.
* When I connect to https://NAS_IP/admin, I am prompted to type my admin login/pass, and then I have "Device is offline, please wait" message box within the usual UI, but no active buttons. (I can press ignore, but the page is unusable)
* I have tried to reboot the NAS many times, no luck. (tried unplug/replug, reboot via ssh, reboot via power button, reboot via RAIDar)
* I have tried OS reinstall mode, no luck either (I dont want to factory reset my NAS to avoid losing my data and settings)
But :
* I can access all smb shares
* Web apps on other ports such as pyload work fine
* I have ssh access to the NAS
* RAIDar detects my NAS and says "good health", both disks are fine.
Thank you in advance for your help
Regards - dcrayAspirantHello All.
Mine is a RN104 updated to 6.2.3.
After trying the update it said update failed and to try it manually which I didn’t know how to do. I could not power off so I unplugged the unit then crossed my fingers and plugged it back in. it did update and says so on the front. I can’t get to my admin page and it says Management service is offline in RAIDar. Both disks are good and I’m around 73% full. I reinstalled twice but can’t get to the page. Ssh works, streaming to tv works, I can access the files ok but can’t get to the admin page. The only app I was using was transmission. I can’t get to it through the browser either. I removed transmission but the problem remains.
Power button now works and stays on. Bottom display stays on as well so I can see my update version and ip. Hate to wipe the unit if there is a simpler fix.
Anyone come across this kind of problem. Thanks in advance for help. - GGITechApprentice

MDGM - Thanks for all the help! I appreciate that there are Netgear folks that are available to help when trouble arises. I cannot speak highly enough of MDGM and his communication and quickness to fix the issue. Even though it was not the same as listed on this thread, he took care of it and got the device to 6.2.3. This included the device being encrypted and no loss of data. Kudos!!! - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredSplit WhiteStarPrime's post into a new thread as it is a different issue: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=80950
6.2.4 has the fix for the management service offline issue.- RomseyAspirant
I have just updated from 6.2.4 to 6.2.5 and have the same issue with management service offline. Raidar reports firmware is 6.2.5, but blue power light flashing, and management service offline. Tried rebooting OS but no difference. I have just ordered another hard disk to capture some of my data, which I can see in win7.
A fix would be very helpful!!

Same issue here after 6.2.4 upgrade. Seems like readynasd service crashes

Please open RAIDar 6.0, download your logs and send your logs in (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)

Hi mdgm,
My cousin is the one who has a box that I reccommended her to buy. She can't figure out how to get the logs :) I have ssh access and can grab logs manually if you tell me which directories to zip up. readynasd gives a problem when starting and crashes:
18936 pts/0 S+ 0:00 grep readynas root@CodyNAS:/lib/systemd/system# readynasd -v 5 -l - [15/08/13 13:57:39] 18942:18942 readynasd.c:1004 () readynasd log started [15/08/13 13:57:39] 18942:18942 context.c:129 (debug) NEW GLOBAL_CONTEXT: db.sq3=0x71bd08 [15/08/13 13:57:39] 18942:18942 context.c:156 (debug) NEW GLOBAL_CONTEXT: event.sq3=0x73eb88 [15/08/13 13:57:39] 18942:18942 context.c:159 (debug) NEW GLOBAL_CONTEXT: globalctx=0x71b430 [15/08/13 13:57:39] 18942:18942 readynasd.c:1175 () readynasd started. This is what my cousin says:
had to update java and then download an d install raidar.exe. Running it all now and will attempt to get the logs and send them to youWhat directory do I try to get the logs from? Raidar is telling me that the management service is offline. I can only see the directories for plex, sabnzb, drone, couchpotato...etc...raidar can not connect to the admin page eitherSorry...can't figure out where to get the logs from...

I also need help with my ReadyNAS 316 (Firmware: 6.2.4).
RAIDar shows status "Management service is offline". The front display shows "booting..." and bottom tray LED is flashing (while other LEDs stay on). I can only see the top level folders of the RN316 in my Mac and PC but no read access to them.
Tried download logs from RAIDar but it popup error "Download process failed".

Hi chanray you could open an online chat support case about this.
- yuuisimAspirant
I am unfortunatly having this issue as well after updating from 6.2.4... tried to use the iOS cloud app one day and got "Management Service Offline" after I went onto RAIDar to check what was going on. Still have SSH access though.
- Ken_StovallAspirant
My question is this...Im having the same problem flashing blue light and can not access my units...getting: Management Service is Offline.
If I remove my drives so I do not loss my data, can I then do a factory reset to clear out any errors then reinstall my disk and be back to normal ??
Thanks
