Re: 1Gb SFP Copper for GSM7224
Hi j_mnemonic
Welcome to the Community!
Yes, you can use AGM734 1000BASE-T SFP transceiver on any M4100 series switch.
But as stated in the datasheet here on page 2 and page 17, the M4100-26G (GSM7224v2h2) four SFP ports are shared with last four RJ45 copper ports. It means that total port count is 26-port and you already have 26 copper RJ45 1000BASE-T interfaces built-in. When inserting a copper 1000BASE-T SFP transceiver like AGM734 in one SFP port, you are going to de-activate the corresponding RJ45 port on its left. Not worth it, isn't it?
I'm sorry if you thought the SFP ports on right hand side were dedicated, we really try to display consistent information throughout all our collaterals. But it is worth mentioning that only official product datasheet, found under the Resources tab of corresponding product page on NETGEAR website, commits for all available features.
I hope this helps,
Regards
