Getting error when trying to give TP-Link AP 'High Power Mode' with 802.3at

Hello,

I have been having issues lately trying to make port(s) for 'TP-Link EAP330 model' that requires '802.3 at' mode for PoE as per manufacturer.

I get an error every time I try to specify this: Error: Failed to Set 'High Power Mode' with 802.3 at.

Software version is for current NetGear: 5.3.0.29

Software version is for current NetGear: B5.2.0.2

When I look at the connected PoE device(s), I am seeing Blinking Green light which leads me to believe that this is not 'at' mode as per NetGear’s KB article on question 7: https://kb.netgear.com/24423/GS105PE-FAQs

I know I am still getting power (af mode most likely) to it but it needs much more power as per their support team which should be 'at' mode:

TP-Link Technical Support Engineer: ‘802.3 at’ can support max 30 watt power, but ‘802.3 af’ just support max 15 watt power which cause insufficient power supply for EAP330.

I have been through numerous forums on here and I see some resolutions as being: able to update the firmware, reboot the AP, etc.

Would there be any other solution than the above? I have several connected devices and I do not want to try the above or might need to after business hours.

Attached photos of error and current conected AP's on the switch.

Regards,

George

Re: Getting error when trying to give TP-Link AP 'High Power Mode' with 802.3at

Hi GeorgeOdisho,

Welcome to NETGEAR community!Smiley Happy

The GS752TPS only support 802.3AT on 1-8 ports and other ports support 802.3AF.

You can reference following screenshot from product document.

gs752tps_poe.png

So please move the high power devices to port 1-8 if you want the devices get 30W 802.3AT power.

May the solution help you.Smiley Happy

Thanks,

Daniel.

Re: Getting error when trying to give TP-Link AP 'High Power Mode' with 802.3at

Hi Daniel,
I wanted to reply yesterday about this just before I left but thanks for the info as I had figured this out with an assistance from internal staff that those ports are the only ones that offer PoE-at mode. We were able to place the AP's on those specific ports and get 'at' mode to work.

I appreciate your feedback, nonetheless.

Regards,

George
