Welcome to the community!
I understand you want to access the switch by using the console. You can access the CLI by using a direct console connection or through SSH or TelNet connection from a remote management host. For the connection, you have to use a direct connection to the console port. Accessing the system remotely requires an IP address, subnet mask and default gateway. You can set the network configuration manually, or you can configure the system to accept these settings from a BOOTP or DHCP server on your network. Click the following link for details Network Interface Commands, see page 10-4 (NOTE: your system should be running atleast firmware 8.0).
We also would like to know what issues you are experiencing on the switch.
