AppArmor cannot be deactivated once the subscription ran out

Hi,

as I upgraded my pihole I have seen that all the requests come from the Router instead of the clients.

Then I remembered, that the Orbi acts as DNS Proxy as long as AppArmor is activated. So I wanted to disable it again and as the licence ran out, I dont find a way to change this behavior back to "normal", so that each client gets the pihole DNS in its dynamic IP "offer".

Seems this setting to deactivate is only available if the subscription is active.

You can disable Armor in the Orbi app under Settings/Security/

Not if the subscription ran out... then you only get the page to make a new subscription. Thats the problem.

Ok, have you powered OFF the RBR then back ON? if the sub expired then this should disable armor on the system.

Might try a factory reset of the system and then setup from scratch with a ethernet connected PC and not the Orbi app.

This would clear out any Armor features left behind.

On/Off doesnt help, had a power outage yesterday, so I am pretty sure..

And yes, a factory reset should help, but this can at least be seen as bug report.

Anything useful here?

NETGEAR Armor powered by Bitdefender

It is the Security Dashboard

I am in the opposite position. I do have an Armor subscription. But it does not show up on the Nighthawk app. Like you I get an invitation to subscribe.

In my case, the thing is complicated by the fact that I have two routers that I manage with the Android app. They are on two separate Internet services.

The NETGEAR Armor powered by Bitdefender page shows that one router has an expired Trial subscription. The other router has an active subscription. It wasn't my choice to link one router with the subscription. Netgear seems to have done this by checking my devices on MyNetgear.

Logging into the Nighthawk app, which promises to control both routers, the Security tile shows an Expired Armor subscription. No way of getting it to see that there is also an active subscription. And, as you have found, no way to get the Armor page to forget the expired trial.
