Monolithic flat disk image available

I have created a monoflat disk image files for the virtual ReadyNAS OS 6.6.0. This can be deployed within ESXi . I believe it should work with proxmox as well.

Let me know if there is an interest so i can host it somewhere.

Re: Monolithic flat disk image available

I used command:

vmkfstools -i ReadyNASOS.vmdk ReadyNASOS_thick.vmdk -d zeroedthick

and it works well.

Did you first convert Netgears IMG-file to VMDK?

https://www.netgear.com/support/product/readynas_os_6#download

Or where does the VMDK file come from? I am not familiar with vmkfstools.

No. I don’t think you can convert that IMG file. There is an older VM image 6.6.0 online. It upgrades to 6.10.8 automatically.

If someone can find a way to convert that IMG. It would be awesome

Re: Monolithic flat disk image available

Thanks for clarifying.

Interesting that the Netgear vmdk-file needs some massage to work with other platforms.
