ReadyNAS 314 - no internet connection

RN31400, FW 6.10.3

It's visible on the local network. I can login in via browser and it appears as a network location in OSX. But it won't connect to the internet, therefore ReadyCloud functions not working:

-can't access via readycloud.netgear.com ("device is offline")

-not syncing files added to local ReadyCloud folder to the NAS

-no ReadyCloud iOS access

And "check for updates" fails.

Router has been set to assign static IP lease to the 2 ethernet cards, both router and NAS align with expected settings. Router 192.168.20.1

NAS 192.168.20.30 and 192.168.20.31

None of these settings have changed since the router was added (new ISP) in March.

Thanks for any suggestions

Re: ReadyNAS 314 - no internet connection

Based on your symptoms, I am thinking that NTP time sync is also failing.

If you aren't using some form of link aggregation in the NAS network settings, you should only connect one of the two ethernet connections to your router.  So try disconnecting one of them.

Also, check the DNS settings in the NAS network configuration. You might try removing your ISP's DNS entry, and putting in 8.8.8.8 (Google's public DNS) or 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare's public DNS).

And if you aren't using ipv6 on your home network, I suggest disabling ipv6 in the NAS network settings.

Re: ReadyNAS 314 - no internet connection

One ethernet cable removed, IPv6 disabled on remaining connection. Restarted NAS, now visible in ReadyCloud (browser and iOS), has synchronised file changes.

No change to DNS settings.

Thank you very much.
