Hello there I recently bought a surfboard8200 because I was informed my modem wasnt good to get my plans speeds 400 mpbs. Well my wireless speeds stay the same I use the 5g and only get up to 150 mpbs I tested directly into my modem and getting those 400+ speeds, correct me if im wrong but my router is meant to get 400 on the 2.4 and 1300 on the 5. I recently update firmware Version: V1.0.4.106_10.0.80
Anything else to unlock the speeds? The settings on the router are defaulted on the modes there suppose to be. Wanted to ask before I reset it.
Appreciate your time

Re: AC1750 R6400v2 slow speeds
Link speed isn't the same as throughput speed.
Its also device dependant as well.
there's a bunch of information I could go over or you could try reading this article;
Understand Wi-Fi 4/5/6/6E (802.11 n/ac/ax) (duckware.com)
It goes over a lot of the misconceptions with wireless.

Re: AC1750 R6400v2 slow speeds
Its a sad state of how manufactures advertise speeds for wireless.
Whats more important is actual tested speeds. I usualy recommend smallnetbuilder for speedtest reviews (he's been doing less of it lately).
here's the review for your device.
NETGEAR R6400 AC1750 Smart WiFi Router Reviewed - SmallNetBuilder
If you do look for other solutions, I'd recommend reading a few tested reveiews of the units to see what actual speeds they get.
