Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
After I upgraded my Nighthawk X6S (R7900P) which is in AP mode to Firmware 1.4.4.94, I'm not able to access the Web UI. The network 172.16.x.x/22 network of which the AP is given a DHCP address of 172.16.x.5. It appears to reset the TCP connection when using any of the standard browsers ie Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. You can ping 172.16.x.5. But you can't access the R7900P via IP address via browser.
I have reset the router to factory settings. It works in router mode. But the second you set to AP mode, you can't login to the Web UI. It appears to work. WiFi works fine in AP mode. You just can't log into the web console to manage it.
Please fix.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
Setting both a Static or using Dynamic configuration, I'm able to access my R7960P web page in AP mode using MS Edge:
However, my IP network is on 192.168 IP address pool configuration.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
Hello,
I have an R7960 running firmware V1.4.4.94_1.3.56. When I go to reserve an IP address it gives me an error "Invalid MAC address" and displays the correct MAC address without the colons between the pairs. This is new behavior and is a problem Has anyone encountered this?
Thanks
Invalid MAC address. xxxxxxxxxxx |

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
I updated my 8000p router to Firmware Version V1.4.4.94_1.3.56 and was adding a computer to my LAN...it displayed in the list to add on the router so I just selected it but when I clicked ADD, it replied Bad Hardware Address and would not add it...the computer is connected by ethernet and can use the internet but I can't add it to my LAN so it will always have the same IP.
I went to another computer and tried to add it and same problem....I downloaded the previous firmware version R8000P-V1.4.3.88_1.3.50 and had no problem adding it my LAN...I think the new firmware is formatting the hardware address wrong by leaving out the colons and causing the bad hardware address problem.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
I went through the process again...updated to latest firmware and then deleted a pc from the LAN...tried to add it back and it gives the message Invalid MAC address...load the previous firmware and can add it back to LAN with no problem...It has the colons in the address where it's listed but when adding it to the LAN and get the Invalid MAC address message, the colons are missing from that address.
The newest version does have a bug and will have to be fixed.

This is a known issue. Bug was reported and passed to NG for review already.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
It was V1.4.3.88_1.3.50 on R7900P. The solution worked well for a long time but I am again experiencing problems. The version in place today is V1.4.4.98_1.3.56. I don't know yet when it was installed. Since my original fix and confirmation, I am sure Windows updates were installed and we experienced several power outages. It looks like I am starting over.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
I am having a problem reserving an IP address for a specific device - my server. It keeps telling me the MAC address is not valid. I am attempting to assign an address outside of the range of devices on my network - 192.168.1.100. My other devices stop at 192.168.1.64. The reason I am trying to reserve this address for the client is because my router randomly changes the IPs including for this client. It is running VMs and apps that require a static IP address.
Steps I have taken:
I have verified the MAC address on MoBo box and in IPCONFIG.
Manually assigned IP, Subnet, Gateway, and DNS in Network/Network Connections/My Adaptor/IPv4 properties on the client.
Logged into my Router from a different client and can verify the server is connected using the IP 192.168.1.100.
Went to Advanced/LAN Setup and tried to add an IP address to reserve. I click on +Add. I select the server from the list that populates. It auto populates the form with the CORRECT MAC address. However, when I click +Add to add the IP address, I get and Invalid MAC address failure.
Please see attached screenshots.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
It's Netgear, they've screwed up the update; downgrading to the last version and everything is working OK now.
Very annoying when your routers programmers make a complete hash of everything!

Which model router do you have?
There is only a beta for the R7960P and R8000P models...
