Nighthawk R7960P running V1.4.4.94_1.3.56 having the "Invalid MAC Address" error... Please send me the beta firmware.
And has there been any word when this will be made "official"? This thread has been reporting these issues since November.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
Hello,
I am completely disappointed with NetGear's incompetence.
I have the very expensive R8000P and when a new update comes out the router gets worse.
I´m tired of this situation that lasts for months, I solved all the problems with a new TP-LINK Archer AXE75 router.
Thanks.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
I updated my firmware now nothing works...
Steam does not load (have to reload it 5 times)... and every new site i open has a dns error.
I know this issue already after fighting with it and solved it with 6to4 tunel.
I am an absolute noob and i dont know what i am doing with all this settings... i dont know what they mean and i dont know what they do.
i bought an expansive router and now i have to infest my freaking freetime to understand all that bs!
Also why just upload the beta in the download section. NO you have to login.
I tried my password 4 times... slowly ... did not work... reset the password... type in new password (ohhh password is old try a new one)
Is anything working with this company.
Please just send me the beta or tell me if the update will be released in the next weeks so i dont have to learn how to manually install a firmware (and prob. learn how to roll back to an old firmware because nothing netgear is releasing works)
sry 4 being so angry but i really have enough of it now.
(i also used a pihole - yeah only follewed youtubetutorials and installed it somehow and get it to work... it worked well until i first updated the firmware of the router. because i am a noob i thought it is an issue with pihole. so i wasted weeks without thinking about the router... later i found out it was of course the routerfirmwareupdate. solved it - as already told - with 4to6 tunel option.
Oh god i wasted so much time on this already... just give me something that works. Its 2023 - all i want is freaking working internet on my Windows pc (Every other android tablet, phone, mac, ... works!)
Thank you

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
What model router do you have?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.
Iv'e switched to 6rd for any IPv6 tunneling configurations. I use Hurricane Electric.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
Modem: Arris TG2492S
Cable cant be the issue if it worked 3 days ago?
No i did not do that - does it delete all the settings if i make a factory reset?
Where can i find that? Do you mean dhcp = dns server? Its set to pihole of course.
192.168.x.xx
Thank you

If your running PiHole has a DHCP service, did you disable DHCP server on the NH router?
Yes.
Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers
https://kb.netgear.com/24086/How-do-I-set-up-a-default-DMZ-server-on-my-Nighthawk-router
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.

I believe the Arris supports option #1...

Does your ISP support native IPv6 protocols or no? If they do then you would set the router to AUTO for IPv6 or contact the ISP for there IPv6 configuration requirements.
I would try a factory reset and setup from scratch as well.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
I believe some 6to4 Tunneling protocols were abandoned or dicontinued in some places.
I recently changed to 6rd configuration on my routers with Hurricane Electric and this works.
Something you can try on yours and see.

Indeed. Baffling.
Makes you wonder what is going on when Netgear relies on a third party to do its dirty work.

A bit baffling indeed that it's been around 5 months and this firmware still isn't officially released. If someone could send me the R7960P beta, that would be great!
