X4S R7800 Throttling LAN ports
Hello,
I noticed the other day that my network and mesh wifi system were running slow when ever I would watch youtube videos they would drop in quality and get extremely pixelated and I would have to manually go into each video and choose 1080p only for it to start buffering like no tomorrow. I thought it was my modem I had my ISP come out and take a look but it's not, it's strictly coming from the router. I joined the Router's wifi and I am getting 580 mpbs down and 20 up which is what I am paying for. When I do it on my desktop which is hardwired to my router I am only getting 140 down and 20 up. I have a Ubiquiti mesh system in my house since the router's wifi would not be able to cover the entire house and if I connect to that I get the same 140ish down and 20 up. It's almost like the LAN ports are throttling for some reason. I can't see anything in the router's settings that would be doing this unless I am missing something. I have the latest firmware too:
Router Firmware Version
V1.0.2.92
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: X4S R7800 Throttling LAN ports
So why not use the MESH system as your router and wifi system?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch.

Re: X4S R7800 Throttling LAN ports
I don't use the MESH system as router since I have some port forwarding settings that I need.
I had a Motorola MB8600 originally but they swapped it out to one of theirs since it was not reading right on their end.
The one they gave me is a DOCSIS 3.1 eMTA EU2251
I swapped out the ethernet cable already.
Wifi I am getting good speeds its only hardwire where it's throttled.
I have not done a factory reset on it since I didn't want to lose my port forwarding settings but I can do that as a last resort if no other ideas come up.

Where is the R7800 in this system?
Is the anonymous Ubiquiti Mesh system operating in AP mode?
What do you see here in the browser graphical user interface (GUI)?

Re: X4S R7800 Throttling LAN ports
How I have it setup is like this: Modem > R7800 > WiFi Mesh system in Port 2
WAN is showing 1000M/Full
LAN 1 is my PC that's showing 1000M/Full
LAN 2 is the WiFi Mesh system showing 1000M/Full
LAN 3 is my network printer showing 1000M/Full
LAN 4 is my security/camera system that's showing 100M/Full

R7800 in router mode?
Mesh in AP mode?
If not, expect problems.
Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.
This explains some of the other drawbacks.

Re: X4S R7800 Throttling LAN ports
Sorry I missed this yes the mesh system is in AP mode or Bridge Mode. Everything was working fine till about a few weeks ago when I noticed constant drops in video quality when streaming. Both my PC and the Mesh system get about 140ish down instead of 500.
The WiFi if I enable it on the R7800 and connect to that gets 580 down which is a huge difference.

If you have not done so, recommend you review the third-party firmware for the R7800 available from Voxel.
Be sure and review the read-me folder link in the header. Here is his web site address:
