Fixed IP dropping for GS724TPP
I am baffled.
Every now and then, the fixed IP assigned to this switch "drops" as in, is no longer assigned.
The switch is still working, devices connected to it still function on the network.
There is no duplicate IP issue. There are no other devices with this IP.
I wondered if it is flipping back to either the default IP, or to an IP assigned by DHCP.
So far I've not had any evidence of that.
Restarting the switch to some extent fixed the problem, as the assigned IP came back, and I could log on.

Re: Fixed IP dropping for GS724TPP
Hello @zkiwi34 ,
And welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂
We wonder why it is happening, this should not happen in normal circumstances.
The common reason for might be IP conflict. If that is not the case.
Please try the below trouble shooting steps:
1) Double-check the IP configuration on the switch to ensure that it is set to use a fixed IP address and not on DHCP server.
Make sure the assigned IP address is within the correct range and there are no conflicting settings.
2) Ensure that your switch's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can address known issues or bugs that may affect IP address assignment stability.
If your issue is resolved please close the thread by clicking "Accept as solution".
Have a lovely day,
