I have a GS105PE, it is powered by a UniFi Switch 8 POE-60W, 802.3af.
Then I passtru to a UniFi AP-AC-LITE. I have to push the netgear reset button to get PoE passtru work and the AP are powered up correct.
When I powercycle the Netgear switch the PoE passtru led starts to blink slowly, indicationg fault. Then I press the reset-button again to get it work.
I have started a thread with UniFi to clarify the maximum PoE budget its stated in datasheet 6.5W:
https://community.ubnt.com/t5/UniFi-Wireless/UniFi-AP-AC-LITE-PoE-Budget/m-p/2536464#M334773
I have updated to FW: 1.6.0.3.
Thanks for your suport!

Hi Sam,
I got your AP today and it shows class 4.
Therefore, it's correct behavior that it can't be power up by GS105PE in your case since GS105PE is powered by 802.3af PSE.
In your case, if you want your AP can be powered up by GS105PE, please connect 802.3at PSE to GS105PE PD port.

Re: GS105PE - PoE Passtru works only after Reset-button pressed
Hi Sam,
GS105PE: PoE troubleshooting does nicely decribe the power available at the PoE PD ports, depending of the power source being 802.3af (aka. 802.3at Type 1) or 802.3at.
The point is that Netgear seems to have a problem with this fancy GS105PE, the problem the OP has started to show up a while ago, there are several posts in the NEtgear Community - I hope Netgear does work on it. @bradleyv @LaurentMa?

Re: GS105PE - PoE Passtru works only after Reset-button pressed
Hi,
What's the FW and boot loader version of GS105PE?
Also, what't the class of UniFi AP-AC-LITE?

It's not documented - at least this information does not exist or can't be discovered easily. Best guess it's a 802.3af Class 0 or Class 3 device, either way max 15.4W to be reserved. Similar, what class are e.g. the Netgear WAC505, WAC510, WAC720, WAC730, WAC740? Nobody will lower the class requirement based on us "cheepo" people trying to run two such devices from a single 802.3at PD source and a GS105PE 8-)

Re: GS105PE - PoE Passtru works only after Reset-button pressed
Boot loader: V1.4.0.5-VB
Class, not avaliable from UniFi.
Note that everything works correct for several days after a hard-reset. A powerloss of the switch cause problem in the startup-mode.

Re: GS105PE - PoE Passtru works only after Reset-button pressed
Hi,
We can't find the class of UniFi AP-AC-LITE, neither.
It's hard for us to debug without the class of UniFi AP-AC-LITE.
Can you connect UniFi AP-AC-LITE to a PoE switch which has GUI that it can show its class and tell us the class?

There are several different devices having issues, not just this AP. Buy one.

Not aware that switches show the class - most Netgear switches for sure don't.

Re: GS105PE - PoE Passtru works only after Reset-button pressed
Hi,
For NTGR smart switch which supports PoE, it can display PD class.
Here is some NTGR smart switch with PoE.
GS110TP, GS510TP, GS516TP, GS728TP, GS752TP, GS724TPv2, GS418TPP, GS510TLP, GS510TPP.

This does not help fixing the interoperability problems we're facing on the subject GS105PE at all. It's Netgear homework to fix things - PoE negotiation is a little bit a difficult thing as there are many different possibilities, on another PD the device can behave different.

Re: GS105PE - PoE Passtru works only after Reset-button pressed
Ok, the Switch behaves different in different scenarios.
AP are connected to the Switch. When Switch loses its power and are powered up again, the AP will not start and the POE led on Switch inicates fault. When the reset button on the switch are pressed 1-3 times while Switch are powered, the AP starts up correctly, and works for weeks!
So I request some consistency here in compability.
I dont have any of the Switch's mentioned by @DanioY to test PoE class in the world of Netgear. Two options: Please send me one, and I can test it for you (and return). Or, Netgear have to shop the AP in question, to debug.
Thanks for your support!

This switch worked fine when new and now it has the same behavior as in this post, nothing has changed in the environment.

Re: GS105PE - PoE Passtru works only after Reset-button pressed
Hi Sam,
Yes, we can buy AP to debug.
But, according to our experience, even we buy the same AP model, the HW version may different.
Consequently, we can't see the issue.
So, is it possible to lend us 1 AP and will return it to you once we complete debug?

Hi Sam,
By the way, if the AP is class 1 or 2, then, it can be powered up in your current case.

Re: GS105PE - PoE Passtru works only after Reset-button pressed
Vendor information of PoE equipment is often lacking when it comes to the exact requirements and implementation. Of course, reserving Class 4 even if the device does never use the power is the most cheepo approach.
Still a little bit unclear why the switch does power the device following a plain simple reset.
