4.2.17 T2 + Ultra 6, Temp sensor question
Running 4.2.16 on my Ultra 6 I had two temp sensors reporting. One reported a bogus value that cannot have been true while the other appeared valid. After updating to 4.2.17 T2 I have lost the bogus sensor. After reverting to 4.2.16 I still only had one sensor.
How many temp sensors should the Ultra 6 have?

Re: 4.2.17 T2 + Ultra 6, Temp sensor question
You should have to 2 temp sensors.
Do you have a Ultra 6? or a 6+?
I just tried the same thing here and both sensors show up.
Ultra 6.. Upgraded from 4.2.16 to 4.2.16 T2 and both sensors are there. The T2 beta was mainly to fix the issues with the Ultra 2 and 2+

Ultra 6. Here's a screencap:
I thought it was weird when the temp1 sensor showed 40 degrees F as the room was around 68 degrees. After I went to .17 T2 temp1 was gone.

Does your /var/log/frontview/enclosure.log show one temp or two?
Still running 4.2.16 mine looks like this:
Have you tried using multiple web browsers? Does clearing your web browser cache make any difference?
Just to provide a comparison with what ahpsi sees versus what I think should be seen, I can see the two sensors (still running 4.2.16):

ahpsi: Try clearing your browser cache and another browser if that doesn't help send in your logs and I can take a look at it. Directions on how to send logs are in my signature.

Re: 4.2.17 T2 + Ultra 6, Temp sensor question
Thanks Chewbacca and mdgm.
I have tried a few different browsers on different PC's and still do not have a 'temp1'. I have cleared the cache. My enclosure.log:
Chewbacca, I will send my logs to you.
mdgm, I see in your pic your 'temp1' sensor is reporting 6C / 42F, is it really that cold? I believe that is the same value my temp1 reported and it was not that cold in my case.

Anyone else notice an odd or incorrect value for temp1 on an Ultra 6?

mdgm
Temp1 6c while the rest of the unit is reporting more sensible temps. Either Netgear programmers are reading the Temp1 sensor incorrectly or you just finished spraying a can of chiller on your CPU. 😄

Try unzipping the logs, deleting backup job logs and zipping it up again. How big are the compressed logs then?

Without backup logs you should be fine - the server kicked mine back because it exceeded 10mb.

Re: 4.2.17 T2 + Ultra 6, Temp sensor question
I have an Ultra 6 Plus running 4.1.16 (I had not realized there was a 4.1.17 "T2" out). Temps are as follows:
Temp 1 45 C / 113 F [Normal 0-65 C / 32-149 F] OK
Temp 2 17.5 C / 63 F [Normal 0-60 C / 32-140 F]
The disks are:
Disk 1 WDC WD30EZRS-00J99B0 2794 GB , 37 C / 98 F , Write-cache ON OK
Disk 2 WDC WD30EZRS-00J99B0 2794 GB , 39 C / 102 F , Write-cache ON OK
Disk 3 WDC WD30EZRS-00J99B0 2794 GB , 37 C / 98 F , Write-cache ON
The room is 68.5 F. Right now, the unit is on (it always is), but it isn't doing anything, and feels cool to the touch, so I would bet both Temp 1 and Temp 2 are wrong. Temp 2 certainly is, or at least it's inaccurate, since I can't imagine the unit is colder than the ambient temperature in the room.
Incidentally, as was the case with 4.1.16 beta firmware, my Readynas thinks it is a "ReadyNAS Pro Business Edition [X-RAID2]" which it is not. This glitch was discussed previously in the beta forum on 4.1.16 issues.

You've got a keeper . The thing to do is buy four more of the units and save on air conditioning this summer !

alexofindy: Your temp readings will be different since it is a Ultra 6+.
Your unit has a cpu fan and a main fan so the temperature will be lower.
Have you sent in your logs for us to see why your unit is showing up as a ReadyNAS Pro Business Edition instead of a Ultra 6 Plus?

Recently posted 4.2.17 restored temp1 on my Ultra 6. The reported temperature value still doesn't make sense but it is reporting.

Hi,
I'm running the latest 4.2.19-T4 beta firmware on my new Ultra 6 (not "plus"), and CPU Temp reads zero degrees Celcius.
Update: even with the stable 4.2.17 firmware, CPU Temp reads zero degrees Celcius.
