[6.1.9 RC 10] Filesystem improvements?
What does that mean, exactly? Will a factory reset be required to take advantage?

Re: [6.1.9 RC 10] Filesystem improvements?
It does say "minor" filesystem improvements.
Nevertheless, I'd also like to know the answer to your question.

Re: [6.1.9 RC 10] Filesystem improvements?
Just a couple bug fixes for corner cases. One is an issue with writing bad data checksums that AFAIK we have not seen yet in the field. The other is a a potential out-of-space error when concurrently writing hundreds of files at the same time, which I believe we have seen once. There would be no benefit to doing a factory default.

Re: [6.1.9 RC 10] Filesystem improvements?
Does the optimized Btfs-Code in Kernel changes 3.16 and 3.17 also improve ReadyNAS Software in future ??

Re: [6.1.9 RC 10] Filesystem improvements?
You'll notice that over time BTRFS in OS6 has been updated to newer versions: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=428216#p428216
Most production firmware updates include a minor update to the kernel.
Firmware updates tend to include backported kernel patches as well such as the minor filesystem improvements in 6.1.9-RC10.
Improvements to BTRFS code will improve ReadyNAS OS 6 in the future. BTRFS is already a great filesystem with many advantages over EXT4.
