auto backup fails, error: source con't be connected

Hi,

My Ready NAS 214 scheduled backups are not happening and jobs are getting fail. when i check errors i found erroe messahe like: "source con't be connected to the system"

Steps followed for resolving the issue:

1. complete pending jobs are deleted and scheduled new jobs, new jobs also failed.

2. fimware updated and checked still backups are getting failed.

3. factory reset also done still backups are getting failed.

The source is remote.

There are two things to try:

  1. see if you can access the remote share on different device (for example, a Windows PC that is not hosting the share).
  2. use the device IP address instead of the hostname in the backup job.

Thank you so much, with ip address backup started working.

Just make sure the device stays at that IP address by reserving the address in your router (typically, the best method) or specifying a static IP in the device.
