Re: Cant access my http://readycloud.netgear.com site
Same here.
- No access to my account via readycloud neither IOS App nor website.
- ReadyNas also deleted ALL cloud users, cloud users home directories
- Toggling the "ReadyCloud" option to "OFF"
Any comments wrt a solution?
Hopefully users et al will be restored

Re: Cant access my http://readycloud.netgear.com site
britrb,
I was able to log into the admin dashboard using the default login information:
username: admin
password: password
Not sure why it is going back to the default settings, but this will at least allow you to log into your admin dashboard.

@CJDEN wrote:I truly hope that you are wrong about data being gone. This would render the ReadyCloud useless for me, if Netgear can delete data on my NAS drive just like that.
"NETGEAR" as a company can't delete the data on your NAS, but if data was deleted without action from you, then your NETGEAR ReadyNAS (probably) deleted it. My point being that NETGEAR Inc. doesn't access your NAS.
Anyway, I hope for you too, but if a ReadyCLOUD user is deleted, in theory its home folder is deleted too, as well as any snapshot of that home folder.
Home folders in general are not the greatest place to store data.

Re: Cant access my http://readycloud.netgear.com site
I have creaated local NAS accounts for my users so that they can connect at the local level.
I have been able to re-add the NAS to readycloud but I am still unable to access anything threw the readycloud.netgear.com site or even login using the email address and password that I used to re-add the NAS back tothe Cloud.
Is their an ETA for when the service will be restored to functioning?
This has really thrown a wrench in many peoples work day.

I'm still able to access my data through Admin login. Just not through my userid.
Try logging in as Admin.

Because that would require some basic courtesy and customer support, whcih Netgear is clearly incapable of.

Re: Cant access my http://readycloud.netgear.com site
It seems that ReadyCLOUD is not just turned off, it unregister the NAS from the ReadyCLOUD account it was attached too. If that happens, then the ReadyCLOUD users are deleted along with their home folders. "Only" turning off (switch to off), this isn't triggered.
If you're supposed to have any data in there, you should check it asap. If so, back it up to a normal share. That's the most urgent thing you should do.
i didn't see any communication from NETGEAR here yet, but if ReadyCLOUD servers are down, then no need to try reactivate it or recover passwords of ReadyCLOUD accounts yet, use local one(s), admin or standard user for data access.

Well, there is no Netgear emplyee hitting a delete button, but if Netgears cloud service can trigger complete datadeletion on my NAS withour notice, warning or acceptance by the owner of the NAS then I see it as a serious! flaw in their service.

Re: ReadyCloud Shows Drives as Offline
I also wish there was email communication about ReadyCLOUD incidents. Even just a notification that there is angoing situation and that they're working on it would be nice, at first at least.

The same issue! Today ReadyCLOUD service automaticaly turned off (and I can't turn it on back)! All cloud users were deleted and the cloud (home) folders with all data were lost!!! I consider this issue as a huge mistake by NETGEAR. Indeed, seems to fail the purpose of the NAS!

Re: Cant access my http://readycloud.netgear.com site
Access is denied to all network attached drives - cant do anything internally anymore, everything has to go through the admin page's browse bit.
When Netgear has sorted their end out, will I have to re add my readynas like the first set up? If I do, will it format the disks? (I dont want it to) I dont have enough spare storage to back the stuff up from the NAS...
Running out of hair to lose!

Re: Cant access my http://readycloud.netgear.com site
Readycloud is still not working.
If you needd to and have loacl network access to ehe device create a local users for the NAS and map the network drives under windows using the Local User Accounts. this is what I have had to doc for one of the ReadyNas that I manged for a business thaat the are local to the NAS and can work from the local network. unfortinatlly this will only allow local network access but not allow remote users to connect to the system.

Re: Issue Not being able to activate a Mynetgear account on ready cloud
I have a ReadyNas 102 and am using a Mac. As of today, ReadyCloud will no longer accept my username and password to sign into my NAS. YET, I can sign into my account online using the same user/password. I am almost in a panic and hope this is the same problem you all are experiencing and a Netgear problem.

Re: Cant access my http://readycloud.netgear.com site
I'm having the same problem here — worked fine yesterday, can't log in via RCloud app or mynetgear today. Password recovery doesn't work, delivers an error message:
There was an error recovering the password. Please retry.
java.net.UnknownhostException: directory.ngxcld.com
I was able to log in to my netgear account to access this forum, though, which seems to indicate that my credentials are still functional.
How real is the possibility that I'll have to reformat/reconnect my NAS and lose all the data on the drives?

Re: Cant access my http://readycloud.netgear.com site
I have two Nas drives one in my studio one at home, the one in the studio backs up to the one at home, I connect to the one in the studio locally to work from. I have been using readynas repicate to do the backup. It failed to back up today, is this due to readycloud being down do you think?

Re: Cant access my http://readycloud.netgear.com site
@BrentDynamics. How do I configure local access if I can't physically get to the NAS locally? I've tried the IP address from a browser, from Windows Explorer and I can't get in. It just keeps prompting me for my login, which of course doesn't work. From Windows explorer, I see my folders but, I cannot get to any sub-folders. It prompts me for my login credentials, which of course also doesn't work. So, how can I get to the admin page locally if it keeps requiring my login for ReadyCloud which doesn't work??? It's a ridiculous cycle. Sorry if my questions sound remedial - I'm no IT guy. Just a guy that needs to work today - like everyone else - and cannot do it because it seems I never configured it to allow for local access and it seems you cannot configure local access unless you sign in to freaking ReadyCloud.

Re: Cant access my http://readycloud.netgear.com site
Yes, The repicate system uses ReadyCloud to mange the connections, and do the backup so with ReadyCloud being down the replicate would not work correctly and therefore it will fail on the backup, as I have a simular setup for one of my clients where they have a local NAS and the remote NAS in my office that gets backed up Each Night

Re: Cant access my http://readycloud.netgear.com site
@Nodeadpixels you should have setup a default admin account when you initially setup the NAS and set a password
when get prompted for the USERname and Passowrd you enter ADMIN as the user, and try the default password of passowrd once you are in the admin page for the NAS you than click on Accouts and just create an account from there.
you may need to do http://nas_ip/my_password and reset the default admin password to something.
Best of Luck
