Then that is why you cannot access transmission outside your network. Check if your router is listed here: http://portforward.com and if so, follow the instructions

Changing the password
Hi Guys,
Its been a while since I've tried to tackle this so I don't remember what I tried to do...but essentially I want to change the transmission password from the default 'password1'. I believe I edited a json file somewhere and tried to change it in the UI - but the defaul password has remained the same.
Can anyone advise me on what I need to do in order to change the password?
Many thanks,
Graham

hey i just did this... you also have to change the password in /addons-config/Transmission/transtop.sh and /addons-config/Transmission/transtart.sh
just remember stop the service first and use notepad++

new installation of transmission problems, help?
first thanks for the work.
I just installed 2.11 and got everything up and running.
changed a few things in the settings.json file
most importantly for my issue, I think
"download-dir": "/c/NAS/completed",
"incomplete-dir": "/c/NAS/downloads",
"incomplete-dir-enabled": true,
these directories exist but I'm seeing errors when downloading torrents (these were existing unfinished torrents in the /c/NAS/downloads directory already)
the files begin to download for a bit then I see the following error
Error: Permission denied (/c/NAS/completed/name.of.torrent)
any clues? just looks like it doesn't have permission to copy the file into the download directory. I can access the completed folder through finder and create folders/delete/etc. I had the graphical version of transmission running locally on my Mac, using these directories before I installed the ReadyNAS add-on.
Thanks!

Re: New Transmission add-on thread
I can't make transmission coexist with nasmonitor.
Have to reinstall transmission and uninstall the monitor.

It should work, try :
Install transmission then install monitor and if transmission did not launch install transmission again

Re: New Transmission add-on thread
I've been happily running 1.92 for some time now and all is fine. However, I've had 3 Take Down notices in the past 3months. What are you guys doing to try to limit yourselves getting these notices?

Re: New Transmission add-on thread
Hi all,
I had a few questions i still need answered and need to setup before i go away:
"Tracker returned an error: Requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker."
Answer was:
Ummm how do i do that exactly sorry im rather new to this 😞 - am i ment to ask the creater of the torrent file to do this??
Solution: Just a bad torrent have had the issue again so far with last 3 torrents - SOLVED!
How do can i access the status page of tranmission via WAN - eg from my work
I have set the monitoring port to 21551 and can access it from the lan but
when i go to https://mydns.dyndns.org:21551 or https://mydns.dyndns.org:21551/transmission/web or https://mydns.dyndns.org:21551/transmission/ i cant get to it?
I have port forward port 21551 on the router.
FYI: I can log into my shares as per normal (eg https://myshare.dyndns.org:21550) but not the torrent status page. I am only using https and dont want to use just plain http.
Solution was to port forward your connecting external port to the internal port of 8181 on the nas via your router - SOLVED 🙂
Thanks
Everyone 🙂

Re: New Transmission add-on thread
hey hey guys, i recently got myself a readynas Duo.
i use transmission on my mac, and i love it, but im having problems with it on the NAS. im running raidiator 4.1.7 T60 - because 4.1.6 with my 2 2tb WD20EARS hdds get ATA errors. im also runnign transmission 2.11
the main issues im getting is transmission getting a page error when accessing and also getting this irritating thing where the login box will appear time after time after time, and never log in. all iv changed is the speed limit rules, i havnt even changed the password... i seem to have to reinstall each time this happens.
any ideas at all?
