cannot access frontview - ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH

Hi, I got a readynas duo v1 with the latest firmware.

Currently I'm getting on edge and chrome, when accessing the frontview the message: ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH.

I could access frontview only with firefox where I could change a setting which forced to accept the browser older TLS versions.

Is there an already a workaround implemented for this issue? I think upgrading the SSL version also requires upgrading the apache modules to a newer SSL version.

Given the age of the linux OS, I don't recommend allowing any inbound over-the-internet connections to this NAS.  I haven't seen any posts here by someone who was able add current SSL to their v1 NAS.

As @saudade says, one option is to make a small mod to allow you to reach frontview with http (not redirecting to https).  See post 5 in this thread:

Here's the "workaround".

https://community.netgear.com/t5/New-ReadyNAS-Users-General/Workaround-for-ERR-SSL-VERSION-OR-CIPHER...

I've done this to my Duo V1 and it works fine with Chrome and Edge.  I just have to drop the "S" in https://  If you use Raidar and press the "admin page " button, it will call your default browser and use https://  so you'll see the error again.  I just bookmarked it to make it simpler.

I wanted to add, I don't allow any outside access (VPN) as StephenB recommends.  My Duo is strictly for backing up my "primary" NAS (another brand).

Thanks @StephenB , @saudade I didn't think about using only http. This way I can access the frontview using edge and chrome. My frontview is only accessible within my LAN.
