ssh for Duo v2?
Is it possible to enable root ssh for the duo v2?
Uploading EnableRootSSH_1.0-x86.bin results in the error message "Architecture is bad".

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes it is possible. The Comparison Charts indicate it is an optional feature.
You need EnableRootSSH_1.0-arm.bin
It doesn't take much imagination to take the x86 link and turn into one for ARM: http://www.readynas.com/download/addons/arm/5.3/EnableRootSSH_1.0-arm.bin - rogercaplanAspirantgreat - thanks!
Any idea why there are no links for arm addons at http://www.readynas.com/?cat=36 ? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredProbably yoh-dah hasn't had time to update that yet.
- I would like the add-on for this as well! :)
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDid you look at the link at the end of my first post in this thread? That links to the ARM add-on which is the one you can install on the Duo v2.
- rogercaplanAspirant@honcho this addon is available - see @mdgm's response from December 2nd...

LOL. thanks... i missed it! it's getting late... lol- jleinbachAspirantI'm a unix newbie but I managed to get root access to my old ReadyNAS Duo v1 and modify the backup script in /frontview/bin so that rsync backups would function as needed (a couple flag changes essentially). I am trying to do the same thing with a new ReadyNAS Duo v2 that will be replacing the v1 but when I use vi to edit the backup script I see what looks like an encrypted file. Is this a well known situation? And if so what can I do to modify the script and save it in a form that the ReadyNAS will still be able to use? Thanks in advance for any pointers.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIf you can't make the settings through Frontview or editing the cron script you'll have to live with it or do your backups manually via the command line or your own custom shell script. If the backups are between the v1 and the v2 you could simply run the backup jobs on the v1.
