Update Firmware for R6220 won't work
Background
Using NetGear Router R6220
Todya the current version is V1.1.0.50_1.0.1
Goal:
Upgrade the firmware.
Problem:
I tried to use the routerlogin.net > Administration > firmware update > Check
but it doesn't provide any download or upgrade.
I also have tried to dowload the file at https://www.netgear.com/support/product/R6220.aspx and then upload it at routerlogin.net but It doeesn't work. It won't upgrade
I also hav tried to use the app https://nighthawk-app.com/ but it only tells me to go to routerlogin.net abd update it.
What should I do?
Thank you!

When you're trying to manually update it, what error do you get?
Did you unzip the file prior to uploading it to the router?

"When you're trying to manually update it, what error do you get? "
I don't get any error message.
I behavethat it would be working but in the end, it is the same result without any changing effect. Consider it the same when you do windows update.
"Did you unzip the file prior to uploading it to the router? "
Yes, I did unzip the file and then uploaded at web browser.

One thing you can try is to "factory reset" the router before you apply the update.
But before you do that, create a backup of your current configuration.
So:
- backup settings
- reset router
- apply update
Then, if the update works, you can either reconfigure the router – if it isn't too complicated – or you can restore the backup.
Be warned that retiring the backup can cause problems. It just may be that the configuration has errors that will arise from the dead, zombie like, and cause problems. Just keep your eye open for that.

You might also try doing a little bit of a stepped approach instead of going to the latest firmware. You are 13 versions behind. Maybe one of them changed the partitioning size

Crikey. I didn't notice that.

That is a good approach. If you don't want to try one step at a time, one way to home in on the key update is to pick one half way between your firmware and the latest.
Keep trying a similar approach – half steps up and down – until it works.
