Can't connect to NV+ Admin

I have an NV+ on my network. Nothing complicated -- NV+, router, 2 pc's. With the exception of changing out the router, not much has changed. I can see the NV+ on the network, read and write to it, but can't get to the Admin screen using RAIDar - it can see it, all green lights, running 4.1.9.

I've noticed that when it gets really warm (during the summer), the NAS stops connecting and I need to reboot it. Then it's fine, but I still can't get to the Admin panel and I've done a reinstall of the OS, but no luck.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Re: Can't connect to NV+ Admin

What happens when you type https://IP_of_NAS (ex https://192.168.3.50) on your web browser?
Are you getting any error messages?

Re: Can't connect to NV+ Admin

I get unable to connect.

I've tried https://IP_OF_NAS/Shares as well as https://IP_OF_NAS/Admin and nothing

I've tried telnet to IP_OF_NAS 80 (and 443). Nothing.

RAIDar sees it, but I think HTTPS is off or not running.

How can I turn on HTTPS without connecting to it?

Re: Can't connect to NV+ Admin

Did the problem start when you changed router? What are the IP addresses of nas , PC and router?
Do you have ssh access?
Do you have a backup?
Have you tried a direct connection between nas and PC?

Re: Can't connect to NV+ Admin

The problem started a while ago when I lost the admin password and had to reset the box.
IP of router: 192.168.1.1
IP of NAS: 192.168.1.151
IP of PC: 192.168.1.8

Not sure how to test SSH

Don't have a backup - this is my backup

Tried a direct connection, but couldn't get anywhere, but didn't have RAIDar installed on my laptop

Re: Can't connect to NV+ Admin

Using windows explorer, yes - I see the shares and I can read / write. Going there via a web browser - no.

Re: Can't connect to NV+ Admin

Then the first step is to copy off any data you need.

Could you further elaborate?

Re: Can't connect to NV+ Admin

You said you had no backup, Since your data is clearly at risk, you should start by copying anything you need off the NAS.

Re: Can't connect to NV+ Admin

Likely the problem is a filling OS partition. If that is the case, you will lose CIFS access also (as it continues to fill).

Options would include
(a) paid (per incident) Netgear Support
(b) courtesy support from a Netgear employee who monitors the forum
(c) Do a factory reset, reconfigure the NAS and restore data from backup.

Re: Can't connect to NV+ Admin

Any way to pull the drives, put in other drives (if necessary), reset / reconfigure the NAS, put old drives back in? Always knew the "nuclear" option was there (C), just hoping there's something out there that I don't know.

Re: Can't connect to NV+ Admin

Zekeman, the reset is designed to wipe the disks so no what you suggest will not help. Sent you a PM

Re: Can't connect to NV+ Admin

A few logs filled up the 2 GB OS partition. Should be fixed now.

Re: Can't connect to NV+ Admin

Looks like the issue has been solved by clearing out the logs. Thanks MDGM!

You can manually delete logs from the web ui periodically to help prevent this from happening again. If you are comfortable with ssh access, then enabling that also lets you monitor the OS partition usage.
