We recieved an alert from our ReadyNas 102 that the fan is dead.
"System: Fan 'Fan' in enclosure 'Internal' speed is below threshold. (0 rpm)."
It is no longer in warranty and it is in a remote place.
I was thinking about remotely restarting it to see if it would resolve the issue (long shot i know), but as it is currently still working and shares are accessible I thought restarting may cause it to not fully power up.
That sounds high to me. I currently see 36-37 C for the drives and 49 C for the system temp. My drives are WDC reds, which do run cool though. What disks are you using?
With these temps It seems plausible that the fan warning is real. I'm not sure if the system will ignore the fan warning on reboot though.
The hardware warranty is 3 years btw - so you might want to double-check the warranty status. RN100 series sales began in 2013, so it is possible you are out-of-warranty if you bought right after launch. But if you never upgraded the firmware, you should still be covered by warranty (6.1.7 was released in April 2014).
