HELP: how do I abort factory reset on NV+
I have accidentally selected the wrong Readynas for a factory reset, for some reason I had 2 webinterfaces open of 2 different devices and I selected the wrong one.
The power cable of my NV+ was pulled 2 minutes after the factory reset command and when I boot it up it says "Awaiting RAIDar", I have tried powering it down again but it keeps coming up with Awaiting RAIDar, there is about 3TB of data on there which I want to keep.
is there any way to abort the reset or am I lost?

- SanderKAspirantfixed with the help of Yoh-dah, a re-install of the OS did the trick
- PapaBear1ApprenticeI saw you post and had no answer. I thought the volume was toast. Great Save by pulling the power and of course one must the force forget not.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhen you initiate the factory reset, the NAS reboots performs a few checks and then starts a 10 minute countdown. So long as you power down (however you can e.g. pulling the power) before the 10 minute countdown finishes the factory reset is aborted.
So you did the right thing. - blaizeAspirantI just did the same thing and pulled the plug in about 3 minutes of doing so and powered it back on but it says awaiting raidar...... where can I go from here???

- blaizeAspirantWell I worked out how to do the OS reinstall which went fine and now it says its resyncing the volume raid 5 and has 10 hours to go (4 x 1TB drives) so fingers crossed it has saved my volume, I guess time will tell it did reset my hostname and IP settings but I guess that would be expected????
I will post how it goes one way or another. - maxblackAspirant

You, sir, are a font of knowledge. The User Guide isn't clear about this, as you have been. In the manual it says:To change between X-RAID and Flex-RAID mode: Perform a Factory Default using the
method described in the previous bullet. Changing RAID modes does not preserve your data,
so make sure to perform a backup before doing this. During the boot process after a Factory
Default, there is a 10-minute window during which you can use RAIDar to select the volume
setup you want. RAIDar will display your ReadyNAS with Setup in the Info column. (It might
take a couple of minutes for RAIDar to display this.)Then, click Setup to display the Volume
Setup screen.
...which implies the "safety net" you clarified for us above, but isn't at all clear about this opportunity to recover from, say, an accidental "factory reset".
Thanks mdgm for this and your many contributions here! 8) - PapaBear1ApprenticeHe has indeed helped a lot of us.
- blaizeAspirantI would also like to add my thanks..... got me out of quiet a bind :D
