LCD shows 198.168.168.168

Hi,

Is this an error ie .. is it showing that DHCP is failing maybe? Bizarre to get the readynas ultra 4000 to show this? It was working before. Now I don't know what IP it is on..

I've tried looking in the DHCP log of my router... Do any of these MACs look like a Netgear MAC:

Eth-Switch Lan(2) 00:e0:36:ee:d5:d7 192.168.0.12
Eth-Switch Lan(4) 00:11:d9:0e:1c:ee 192.168.0.14
Eth-Switch Lan(1) 64:70:02:00:62:89 192.168.0.18

Thanks

Gerard

192.168.168.168 is what the NAS picks up if it can't get an I.P.

Try rebooting the NAS and if it still doesn't work, you could try an OS Re-install.

To GKennedy,
As said earlier 198.168.168.168 is a default IP address, where no DHCP service is detected.

To reply to Mdgm, an OS reinstall will reset the NAS IP to this default address of 198.168.168.168.
This will be for a brief period, if DHCP is detected. Admin & password also go back to default.

Have you tried running RAIDar? That would give you NAS LAN IP.
Can you ping device? Can you reach NAS using 2nd Ethernet port?

Regards, Marto
