NIC IP addresses for teaming on ReadyNAS Pro 4
I just received a Pro 4 as a replacement for a broken NVX. Now I want to use both NICs. I'm using static IP addresses in my network. Do I give each of the Pro 4's NICs the same IP address?

Re: NIC IP addresses for teaming on ReadyNAS Pro 4
no.
when you bond the nic's in frontview, it will show them as one interface which gets 1 ip.
I assume that you understand you need a switch that supports bonded ethernet channels, ie a managed/smart switch.

Teaming on ReadyNAS Pro 4
Talmage,
As TeknoJuky has said, the switch must support LAG, (link Aggregation ) ,
or Etherchannel as it may be known as.
Both devices should be set to the same
LACP protocol. Test at an off peak time before roll out.
Regards, Marto
