After command:
root@nas-JohnyB:~# mount -o ro /dev/c/c
mount: special device /dev/c/c does not exist
?! Why?
Any help?
root@nas-JohnyB:~# sudo fsck
fsck from util-linux-ng 2.17.2
e2fsck 1.41.14 (22-Dec-2010)
fsck.ext4: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/c/c

Re: NeatGear NV+ V2 not mounting /dev/c/c
Are you booting up normally?
Are you seeing issues when you run dashboard?
Is RAIDar telling you anything useful about the NAS health? https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads#raidar

Maybe try rebooting.
It would also be useful to download the full log zip file, and see if there are clues in there on why the data volume isn't mounting.
Was there a power loss of some kind? Loss of cached writes can result in an out of sync RAID array that won't mount.

Re: NeatGear NV+ V2 not mounting /dev/c/c
Again, I suggest downloading the full log zip. Look for health of all disks in the smart logs. Also look in system.log and kernel.log for errors related to disks, RAID, and the file system.

And 1.5 year I don't have acces to my files, today I removed disk for test, and booom, all data are available.
Have a look thise case: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS-in-Business/Volume-scan-failed-to-run-properly/...

Ok, so you have access to all your data now?
If so, it would be a good time to back it up. The volume should be showing a "degraded" status w/o the disk.
I suggest testing the disk in a Windows PC using WDC's lifeguard program. Run both the extended non-destructive test, and the erase disk test. If it passes both, you could try inserting it back (with the NAS running). That would start a resync process. If it fails, you should of course replace it. Get either a WD Red Plus or a Seagate Ironwolf - don't replace it with the WD40EFAX, as that is SMR (which can misbehave in RAID arrays).
BTW, the disk appears to be just out of warranty.

8TB external HHD is on his way, tomorrow before 1pm Amazon should deliver.
How create backup, from Radiator backup menu? External drive NTFS or exFat? Best way.

WD40EFRX-68WT0N0 - looks like WD RED Nas Hard drive.
Which exactly model I should use? I'll replace all of them.

It was a Red drive when you bought it. In June 2020, WDC rebranded it as a Red Plus drive - https://www.anandtech.com/show/15878/western-digital-cleans-up-the-red-smr-nas-hdd-mess. You can see that on the Red Plus data sheet here: https://documents.westerndigital.com/content/dam/doc-library/en_us/assets/public/western-digital/pro...
The current model would be a WD40EFZX.
@BaGRoS wrote:

If that's your plan, I suggest looking at fewer but larger drives.
Three WD60EFZX cost about the same as four WD40EFZX, and would give you the same volume size. That would leave an open slot for later expansion.
Either way, do a fresh install with all disks in place after your backup. Then restore the data from the backup. That will be faster than upgrading the disks one-by-one. Label the old disks by slot as you remove them - if something goes wrong, you can reinstall them, and start again.
@BaGRoS wrote:

You connect the drive to a NAS USB port and use ReadyNAS backup job(s) - see chapter 6 of the manual here: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/READYNAS%20ARM-PLATFORM%20(DUO%20V2,%20NV+%20V2)/RAIDiat...
If you do this, you should format the drive as NTFS - the NAS doesn't support exFAT.
The other option is to connect the drive to a PC, and then backup over the network. Something like FreeFileSync would be a tool you can use (likely better than drag/drop).

Yes. The full erase takes the same amount of time (and I have seen some disks that pass one test, and fail the other).
Part of the puzzle is whether the problem is with the NAS SATA electronics or the disk.
If bay one has failed, then putting a new disk in there won't help.

Re: NeatGear NV+ V2 not mounting /dev/c/c
I suspected this is a problem, because I don't have a disk in bay 1, but NAS still see this disk as DEAD...
I started looking for new NAS, but I don't know which one to choose. Neatgear has stopped producing new equipment. I check on Amazon and everything is not available.
After finished backup, I'll check connectors and use contact cleaner.

FWIW, that happened to me once with my Pro-6, but the chassis was fine.
If the disk becomes non-responsive, then the linux drivers can set the sata interface down. Then the disk status will remain dead. I shut down the NAS and disconnected the mains power off for a while, then restarted it. Then the interface came back up.
Of course if the SATA interface has failed, then it won't recognize a new disk in that slot.
But I don't think you should touch this until after you make your backup. Right now you have access to your data, and playing around with the NAS risks losing that again.
