OS6 - Snapshots for home directories?

I just read that snapshots are not supported for home directories, not sure why.

So, what's a reasonable strategy then if i want to provide this obvious level of safety for my users?

Others have been asking for it also; viewtopic.php?f=10&t=72320

Yea, I guess I understood that it isn't supported. My real question was what are folks doing in the interim.

The obvious option would be to NOT use home directories and instead create shares for each user owned by that user and have them support snapshots.

Was just curious if there were other approaches?

With SSH you could delete the user's home folder, and then re-create it as a subvolume. But you would also need to browse the snapshots with ssh. So I think the obvious option is better.

However, even there you would need to browse the snapshots for them, unless you give everyone the admin password.
