MDGM - Thanks for all the help! I appreciate that there are Netgear folks that are available to help when trouble arises. I cannot speak highly enough of MDGM and his communication and quickness to fix the issue. Even though it was not the same as listed on this thread, he took care of it and got the device to 6.2.3. This included the device being encrypted and no loss of data. Kudos!!!

Re: RN102 - Management service offline after 6.2.3 update
I have just updated from 6.2.4 to 6.2.5 and have the same issue with management service offline. Raidar reports firmware is 6.2.5, but blue power light flashing, and management service offline. Tried rebooting OS but no difference. I have just ordered another hard disk to capture some of my data, which I can see in win7.
A fix would be very helpful!!

Please open RAIDar 6.0, download your logs and send your logs in (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)

Re: RN102 - Management service offline after 6.2.3 update
Hi mdgm,
My cousin is the one who has a box that I reccommended her to buy. She can't figure out how to get the logs 🙂 I have ssh access and can grab logs manually if you tell me which directories to zip up. readynasd gives a problem when starting and crashes:
18936 pts/0 S+ 0:00 grep readynas root@CodyNAS:/lib/systemd/system# readynasd -v 5 -l - [15/08/13 13:57:39] 18942:18942 readynasd.c:1004 () readynasd log started [15/08/13 13:57:39] 18942:18942 context.c:129 (debug) NEW GLOBAL_CONTEXT: db.sq3=0x71bd08 [15/08/13 13:57:39] 18942:18942 context.c:156 (debug) NEW GLOBAL_CONTEXT: event.sq3=0x73eb88 [15/08/13 13:57:39] 18942:18942 context.c:159 (debug) NEW GLOBAL_CONTEXT: globalctx=0x71b430 [15/08/13 13:57:39] 18942:18942 readynasd.c:1175 () readynasd started. This is what my cousin says:

Re: RN102 - Management service offline after 6.2.3 update
RAIDar 6.0- has a control to download the logs. She is perhaps running an older version of RAIDar.

Re: RN102 - Management service offline after 6.2.3 update
Thanks for the logs. I have sent you a PM.
I noticed something I found very surprising in the logs. Somehow some snapshots have been taken of the OS partition back in October last year.
As the OS partition is only 4GB taking any snapshots of that subvolume will likely eventually lead to issues.

Re: RN102 - Management service offline after 6.2.3 update
I also need help with my ReadyNAS 316 (Firmware: 6.2.4).
RAIDar shows status "Management service is offline". The front display shows "booting..." and bottom tray LED is flashing (while other LEDs stay on). I can only see the top level folders of the RN316 in my Mac and PC but no read access to them.
Tried download logs from RAIDar but it popup error "Download process failed".

Re: RN102 - Management service offline after 6.2.3 update
I am unfortunatly having this issue as well after updating from 6.2.4... tried to use the iOS cloud app one day and got "Management Service Offline" after I went onto RAIDar to check what was going on. Still have SSH access though.

Re: RN102 - Management service offline after 6.2.3 update
I figured it out! It turns out it was an overly large /var/log/btmp file that made the 4GB OS Partition run out of space! Removing the file took care of it!

Re: RN102 - Management service offline after 6.2.3 update
HI ! I'm sorry but could you tell me how you managed to do that? My readynas has gone offline since the last backup and wont come back online. I can access the shares but cant log in to user interface. Its seems bizzare that everything else works but I am afraid that backup schedule is not working anymore.
I loged in via ssh and looked at the /var/log/btmp file and deleted it. But I still get the same message? I tried a restart via UI but maybe I need to pull the plugg ?

Let's start from the beginning, instead of just deleting stuff. How full is your OS partition?
Log in with ssh and enter
df . -h
df . -i
and report the results.

Re: RN102 - Management service offline after 6.2.3 update
My question is this...Im having the same problem flashing blue light and can not access my units...getting: Management Service is Offline.
If I remove my drives so I do not loss my data, can I then do a factory reset to clear out any errors then reinstall my disk and be back to normal ??
Thanks
